I've read the whole thread and like a lot of ideas here.

Alahmnat gave a very good list of the features I would have liked to be implemented. The very annoying part of the KI List that it is not staying still. As Alahmnat pointed out, if I want the Age List (or any other list on the KI) to be closed, let it be closed.

Configurable groups among the Buddy List (very much needed)

I like the idea of name tags and the menu over the Avvie.

I also would like to have the ability to be able to type foreign characters through Windows interface. If I want, for example, type something in German or French, I can't access accented characters if my installation was English. I would love to have a Unicode capabilities, so I might even type in Russian Smile

Another wish is to be able to independently move the chat window to any portion of the screen, resize it if I want to.

the KI really needs to be a lot faster running in general. i have 1GB of RAM on my PC (not much but its enough) and a processor well above the reccommended spec and my KI runs very unresponsively. Compare it to the UI of say World of warcraft and other MMORPG's and you will see my point. Complicated and unresponsive UI's do tend to frighten away new users.

Thought of another feature I'd like to see... This one is, in fact, taken from a comment on one of the old Gira KI photos posted on the DRC site a few years back. The image was said to have been taken from Marie Sutherland's flora and fauna collection of KI photos. I think it'd be nice to be able to create one's own folders for image and note storage beyond the default ones for incoming messages and individual Ages.

An Outbox would be nice too, so one could keep track of shared "KImail" notes more easily.

Edit - Put this here cuz the flashlight comes with the KI, I have no idea where to request the ladders. This is as good a place as any.

I think that this might be a good idea, but I'm sure that if it were implemented we would have to dramatically alter puzzles in Gira, as well as others maybe.

or just have the flashlight show up in the last room on Gira at the end of that puzzle. That way you won't have to worry about changing the entire puzzle. Plus they don't have to use energizer batterys. They can be D'ni flashlights that may not work for some good IC reason when the time comes for a puzzle in the dark.

If we get the ability to use our hands and manipulate objects, we could pick up a fire marble and place it in a lantern. Better than a flashlight for me. Very Happy

I should clarify here and say we need a step ladder or two or several, if we can't drag them around from place to place. Then the camera people could get in and take some closeups while filming parades and parties.

We could us the flashlight for similar reasons. I like the dark, because it makes the game play immersive, but it also makes for some difficult to edit film without it going grainy. If and when fraps or other like device adds a flash, we might not need the flashlights. Cool

...and most everyone likes to take a home movie now and then, even if its not for public airing Wink

The problem with that is if the pictures are stored normally in a folder, it's easy to put your own pictures into the game too. And there are a whole lot of reasons why you don't want people putting their own pictures on their KIs.

What about a photoalbum on a shelf in relto.
When emtying the KI the pictures go to the photoalbum stored localy on your computer but you can't take pictures from the album to the kI preventing ppl to put there own pictures on viewers.
This way you can backup the picture you want for the future

Altough It would be great to be able to pu your own images on the KI. I do agree with trickster. If that capability was added there would need to be moderation put in place, which would be time consuming and costly to Cyan.

I think the ability to save the KI images onto the computer would be good.

I think being able to hide (or collapse) certain parts of the KI would be good.
like the way windows media player and winamp does.

How about having two versions of pictures/text/markergames taken/received stored on the PC. The one used by the game is encripted in a sperate folder, but gives you unlimited KI capacity. At the same time when you take a picture a standard jpg is put into a "My Documents/My KI pictures" folder. Very Happy

How about a "go to top" or "go to Bottom" button for the age player list.

I find it very frustrating to have to click a zillion times to get back to the top of the age player list after having pmed a buddy when the Age player list happens to be off the screen because there are so many people there.

If you could go directly to the top or bottom in one click it would be awesome.

I also would like a way to freeze the chat for a chance to catch up...sometimes you just need to slow the chat down to get it all..
That or a way to keep it from constantly rolling to the bottom until your ready.

This might sound strange but I think it would help if maybe we had an option on our KI to set if we wanted to see the names of players in some type of small text above there head or something instead of having to constantly put our Cursor over everyone to see who they are. Sometimes if Im running in the City and your looking for someone you wouldnt have to stop and run your curosr over them, you could just see it instead And also the constant back space on KI chat but im sure thats been brought up..thats my 2 cents Smile
