The Singularity Forum Exclamation

Idea How about a special forum or a special marker for threads where the posters want one thought & one opinion only expressed.

That way folks would not waste each others time & energy and know not to post opposing thoughts and or differences of opinion and or anything other dialog contrary to any of the other posts and or posters there. Cool

It would save tons of bandwidth, server space and giver us more time and energy to trip out in our own little worlds. Wink

Singularities are the stuff of fantasy.

For some reason I see no problem with this.

‘The Singularity Forum’ – while the idea is sound Sempey – it would never happen in this forum. You only have to look back at ol’ threads to see how the subject matter changes. Despite the efforts of a few – more so the Mods to keep it on track. And anyway, reversing polarity always brings us back to reality from any singularity – Captain Kirk says so.

No problem with which: singularities, fantasies or threads which remain on topic and express only one point of view?

I guess when you put it that way, it would be redundant to have an area like that when the other sections of the forum already serve the purpose.

I have had quite a bit of fun with the ‘Ignore’ button by turning various pieces of dialog on and off. I can find several singularities in almost any thread. Shocked The sub dialogs inside of the sub dialogs are a real trip to follow. Been there done that. Cool

Just think how ‘The Singularity Forum’ can enhance your emersion on the boards. Everybody is on the same page in your thread. Anyway, for today that’s my pie in the sky. Wink

Kewel, the more I think about it the more Singularities I find. Wink

For Example:

The All About Apples Forum

Topic "Danger of Sitting under Apple Trees"

Fig Newton wrote:

Although relaxing under Apple trees can be very enjoyable, and good for the libido. One must take care of falling apples. They can be dangerously injurious to the Head, and really ruin ones afternoon tea.

GentleObserver wrote:

I see your concern but have you ever considered maybe reversing the process that causes apples to fall? I have been thinking Every point mass attracts every other point mass by a force pointing along the line intersecting both points. The force is proportional to the product of the two masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between the point masses: Fix that and no more falling apples!

Fig Newton wrote:

Preposterous! That is Heresy! One can not change the canon of what God has put in place!

Atheist Monk wrote:

Who's to say wutt god meant? You can't see wutt makes apples fall. And you can't see god. I'd say the Gravity of the situation is pretty grim if you can't explain one or the other?

MOD PeachPit2 wrote:

Please stay on topic, or I will have to lock this thread, or worse delete it. It's too confusing for readers to follow MORE than one thought at a time. So be respectful. JMO But I think if you drop Two puppies from a tower at the same time they will fall at the same speed also.....

Fig Newton wrote:

Fine! Would a MOD please change the name of this thread to "My Universal Law of Gravitation" ?

Dense Fog wrote:

Awwww, I Love Puppies! Dey are cute. But I would be scared if they started falling off buildings. That would be dangerous for the people below. Maybe I should make a Puppy Thread? (MOD please move this if it's not in the right Forum)

and so is the continuing saga of Human Nature.......... Rolling Eyes

Okay folks,

If you have a problem with the way this forum is being run, I've stated several times that I'm open to discussing the issue with you in private. If you have a problem with specific members of this forum, you are invited and encouraged to contact them to resolve any issues you have with them privately. If you feel that I will not be receptive to your concerns, you are invited and encouraged to contact Chogon to discuss things with him. Sniping at the moderators and forum members in a public thread on the forum will not be tolerated.

I have provided you with avenues of communication for the resolution of your issues here. If you choose not to take advantage of them, I see nobody to blame for your ongoing problems but you. This thread is now closed; attempts to re-create it will result in further disciplinary actions as determined by Chogon.
