Hi!

So, because I'm a little bored, I wanted to share my ideas for the TPOTS (the path of the shell) journey in MOUL. Cyan Worlds, of course, cannot do those thing right now, but this is what I hope it will, one day, be:

Before everything

This is a new feature in relto. It will not require a relto page, and will be there always: a small red button on the inner wall of the relto hut. Once you press it, the Relto closed opens like a door, revealing a small tunnel behind it. It leads you to a small room, where there's a small table, with a small lamp on it, and a picture of 16 years old yeesha and her parents in Releeshan. It will be usefull later on. Pressing the button again move the closed to the regular position, and the tunnel is blocked.

The Watcher's Pub (1)

After you link to the pub once (through nexus, public pub), you will have a new book at relto, linking to a personal version of the pub.

While in the public pub (through nexus) the button on the room in the second floor doesn't work (regulary), the one in the personal pub (through relto) will work, and it will open the door (after the regular alarm), giving you access to the puzzle room.

There is a big rock on the pub's stairs, as shown in this picture: http://www.mystonline.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=16333&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=60 (don't mind the other things, they won't be there, just the big rock). Of course, there will be a tunnel carved in the rock at the second flor, so you will have access to the room, and the other side of the rock (which can also be accessed by the stairs, but if we have a tunnel to the room, so why ot all the way through?)

Er'cana

Work the same, nothing changed.

Ahnonay

A relto page in the first sphere (water sphere, on the ground), which gives 5 quabs to your relto (if you make one jump from the ledge, it will come back the next time you link to relto).

The old small d'ni clock from TPOTS expansion pack, on one of the shelfs in the waterfall offfice (outside of machine, where the vogondola take you, same place where the clock was at the expansion pack) . It will be there and you can use it, but it will not be of any important use (the note for the expansion pack won't be there).

A relto page in the waterfall office, next to the clock, which gives you this clock. It will appear on the small table in relto hut.

Papers and notes all over the waterfall office table. You can't read them, but they are there, to make the "someone has been here" feeling.

Speeches

After you find all cloths and you complete the shell portal, you need to go through it. Only that now, it's not really a portal. It's a white glyph. In both Er'cana and Ahnonay, the glyph is on the ground (actually on the ground only in Er'cana, in Ahnonay it's on the platform, normally). The different shapes and all these things work just like the portals did (before 7 cloths are touched). Touch it, and yeesha will speak.

So touch it, and yeesha will do her speech, each age has a different speech, according to it's story. My suggestions (it took someone time getting a good speech with yeesha-cryptness Razz ) :

Beginning (added at the beginning of the speech of the first age you do, if it's Er'cana or Ahnonay): "the gathered will tell the path of the shell. Many tried, but non succeeded. The words of the Watcher are lying there, and no one to listen. I did, and I learned. Kadish also knew. How to pass the puzzle. He read between the lines, he knew more. Only that it was too late for him. For he wasn't only smart, he was crazy. I will show you, and I will help you. You will follow the shell. You will know."

Er'cana part: "the age of Er'cana was one of the ages where pellets were made. Pellets that were made to feed the algea in the lake of D'ni, light it brighter. A grower to banish the darkness. Ha, what a fool. He tried to convince him selfs he is the grower by dropping pellets. He never understood this is not the light. This age was brought to Kadish, to upgarde the machinery, to help. And instead he used it with stupidity. He knew he wasn't the grower but he was so... wick."

Ahnonay part: "a grower to move through time... did you believe him too? did you believe the so called grower? Kadish thought people would be stupid enough to believe he move through time... and he was right. On the backs of the bahro, he built his huge machine. Non of it was real. Nothing. The real ahnonay was this huge vortex of water. Nothing more. But of course, he could travel in time! and no one ever tried to see what was done. Never."

Final (added in the end of the speech of the last age you do): " there is more. The path of the shell. You can do that too. I helped as much as I can. It is not done. You need to follow the truth. The words. Once light is indeed brought, you will know what to do. I wish you well."

Anyway, once the speech is done, you can listen to it again by going through the shell again.

Pool and yellow bahro caves

3 papers, like the ones with the numbers on them at TPOTS, are added to the lower cave. However, there is no number on them. There is no X glyph on the wall (imager code), and instead there is a blank rectangle.

Now, you need a friend to drop a pellet from the upper cave to the lower one. Once it is done as it should be, the cave will be lighten, revealing the regular bahro glyphs on the wall, and some more interesting things.

In the blank rectangle, a text will appear: "Time teaches many things. It is the rock in which we bore". On the papers on the wall, numbers will appear: 1:38, 5:18, and 5:32.

These things, with the glyphs will disappear after few seconds (normally).

If you read "Myst The Book Of Ti'ana", you may remember the text in the rectangle. It is said by some dude in the first chapter, and it is said this is an old D'ni saying. Here' of course, it is a clue. "Time teaches many things" means you should do something with time. "It is the rock in which we bore"- means you will NOT hae to do something with a rock (the ball in the puzzle room).

The numbers on the papers are leading to passages in the "Words" books. 1:38: "The passing of time gives the path to the gathered." , 5:18: "The gathered will find rest when the light comes." , 5:32: "Roll the stone to know the deceiver." . These are all, of course clues for the puzzle.

Watcher's Pub (2)

Now you need to go to the puzzle room in the personal pub (again, ONLY in the personal pub). On the floor of the puzzle room, there is the number 30 in D'ni. What you need to do is wait 30 second under the light (which is turned on with that switch, normally). After 30 second, the ladder reveals. Do the regular TPOTS things, and you reach the tree.

In the tree, some things will be different. All around the tree's wall, there are big stones, a bit higher than you. Each has the "watcher face" carved on it, like the one on the Words cover. One of these stones has a shell cloth on it. Touch it, and it will be a checkpoint in the personal pub book at relto.

The stone in front of the entrance has a blue "kadish tolesa style" button in front of it, which will reset the puzzle.

One of the other stones will have a square carved on it, around the "watcher face". It is a very big button. Press it, and another stone in this room "fall into" the ground, with a big roaring sound. Behind it is the tree's wall. And on the tree's wall, there is a spiral carving. Touch it, and it will glow blue. Which means the elevator is working.

What is the elevator? well, if you follow the spiral on the floor now, at the end, the circle will turn to an elevator, which will take you down to a cave.

There is a small table in the dark cave, but more importantly, carved on the wall behind it, an imager cade, for the cleft imager.

The Cleft

Use the code, and yeesha hologram will show up, with a "yeesha's theme" style music (the one that plays at yeesha's hologram messages). She will walk around the room and talk:

"You have done well. Do you believe? You know his body no longer lies in his vault. And I have followed the shell, round and round, and back again. I taught you the same. To think they believed him with such... (sigh). The Grower is the one who leads. There is a new Tree. Time conquered. Light to darkness. Linking without Books. You have done well. You have seen Words fulfilled. But still more to be fulfilled. Do you believe? Parheps the ending has not yet been wrriten"

Once she is done, a big stone appears, just like the one in the bevin top balcony. On it, there is a white shell glyph. You touch it and link to your personal K'veer (normally). 2 minutes after the stone appears, it will disappear.

K'veer

After music loop ends, it will not restart immidiatly. It will stop for about 10 minutes, and than restart (both at prison room and the halls).

Both at personal and public, there is no padestel at the prison room. There is no Myst linking book anywhere.

Myst

Linking book is added to the Relto bookcase after you first arrivel in K'veer.

Fireplace is blocked with wooden planks.

Door is open. Outside is the ruined, dark Myst island, like the one at "end of ages".

Island is somewhat bigger, as well as the library it self.

Kadish Tolesa

There is no way to link to the empty vault before you finish the TPOTS journey.

After you finish the TPOTS journey, there is a new item on the Kadish Tolesa vault: a small stone board (like the one we have now on the site, with the 1st journey hand sign). There's a shell symbol on it, and a note next to it.

The handwriting on the note is Yeesha's. It says:

"Look at the power which went lost in time. What's now?
It's like they are here to teach me. The creatures. They know better.
And all I did was abusing it. So stupid.
Sometimes I feel these powers are a burden.
Sometimes I imagine life with no such powers.
I'm just confused.
Yet they know better. I have much to learn."

Once you touch the stone, you link to the empty vault.

Everything is same as before. Linking spot is where you touched the stone, just in front of it.

There is no helmet.

Relto page is there.

Yeesha's torn note is there, just without the fireplace pattern.

Prizes

And now, the new prizes! Smile

A new print for "yeesha's gift" shirt: the journey symbol, a shell.

Another entry to the journeys book (the journeys book is a book on your relto bookshelf, which sort of works like the rings. On the first page, there is a very old paper, with a journal entry, which says the things catherine says in the realMyst trailer. The other pages have journeys symbols on them, and a key sentence of the journey below them. Once you complete a journey, the journey's page appears). It has the shell symbol and below it the sentence "The gathered will tell the path of the shell".

well to be honest I have always thought that the path of the shell journey should have ended in the cavern of Rolep not K'veer. The real Rolep not the pub but the place where the watcher regained his sight after being blind for all those years. A place I always pictured looking like this.

I know that it's not intended to be Rolep, but that's is how I picture it.


I had thought that maybe Yeesha, or a hologram of Yeesha would show up and make some kind of connection to the place and the grower, like lighting the lake at the end of TPOTS, possibly having the whole cavern light up all around you and echo with the words of the grower as she speaks. That however is just me, you can do what you want.

I also edited few other things, about the bahro cave. I realized that not all the journeys are about the bahro, and not all should have a bahro cave. Bahro caves should not be an ordinary thing. So, edited.

Fixed some other things. Figured that although the island idea is cool, it won't really...fit. Also changed portals and floating symbols.
