Healing is a journey...
...from where you are to where you want to be
...from not-so-good to better, by way of confusion
...taken sometimes in confident strides, other times creeping timidly
...that's more enjoyable in understanding company

The (travelling) Guild of Healers invites you on a metaphorical caravan from mysterious China through desert and mountain, climbing and descending, to the Mediterranean Sea following the interwoven complexities of the Silk Road. We've chosen to meet in Second Life in new facilities provided by the kind folks there, but the music can be heard anywhere people want to meet.

Our caravan departs on June 13 at 1000 Pacific U.S., 1300 Eastern U.S., 1900 Zulu and Central European, and the journey takes 3.5 hours (somewhat faster than Marco Polo). We welcome other travellers to join us; please contact Tai'lahr or Ghaelen in Second Life to find out exactly where.

The music for this exploration will be presented on Shoutcast, courtesy of Ashtar, at

Where are we going? We're not sure. We do intend to help each other enjoy the trip.

Bugger, and I know at least one very fitting song to add to the music. Sad

I believe Ghaelen and I have agreed to simply direct everyone to the Eder D'Uru Post Office in which we'll set up a teleport to the actual venue.

Looking forward to this! Very Happy

Yes we did agree on that, Tai, and I was so engrossed in landscaping the Retreat space that I was too slow in passing on that information before the announcement. The Traveling Healers are presently deciding where, exactly, we will assemble in Second Life, and we'll provide that link in the post office very soon. This has all happened fairly quickly, but Tailahr and Dagda have been most helpful in setting up our space and showing me how to dig into the earth and build. (Been rather fun, too)

You are, of course, welcome to contact me here or Second LIfe (Ghaelen Winnikow) or feel free to visit the GoH Silk Road Thread to read about the event and the development of the Retreat. We will have the GoH public chatroom open on the day of the journey for those in the community who are not in Second Life and would like to gather together to enjoy good music and good company. I'll post that link here early in the day on the 13th.

BTW, I also have an avie in There, but I have no idea how to post or notify Uru folks. I'd love any assistance anyone would like to offer. /looks hopeful

Hope to see you there!

Thanks for posting this! I'm not in SL much at all, but I took some time last night and finally got my character to a point where I'm not embarrased to be seen in public. I've still got that silly walk, but everything else is fine now - so I'm ready!

Not anymore. I just dropped a basic Female Walk Overrider into your inventory (with a skating animation to override the run, too!) Very Happy

I'm looking forward to this very much. Don't think I can be in the actual location for very much of it, but I will certainly be listening to the music! Welcome to our little colony in "New Lands", you recent comers to SL. Very Happy

I love this song, and I think it'll go well with the event. It's also featured in my URU cocnert playlist. (the concert video)

If you can't hear the lyrics...

Jean Michel Jarre wrote:

Venus......
Humanas......
Guilding Star......
Sirrius......

Jupiter......
Pluto......
Mars......

Saturn......
Millions of stars, shining around, shining around.
Millions of trees, growing alone, millions of blackbirds, flying around.
Don't fell alone.

Vigar......
Gayumi......
Atlas......
Halimega......

All these angels, fly, in the wind.
All these angels, fly, in the wind.
All these people, cry, in the wind.
All these memories, all these memories;
Carried away, by the wind.
All these plants, floating, in the wind.
All these words, lost, in the wind.
And all these lovers, and all these lovers;
All gone, in the wind.

Crying or Very sad Best song in the world.

Thanks for the tip, Chris. Jarre was on my list of music to research for Uru parties when the Cavern was closed. This song might fit another concept for a road trip but it's outside of how I've designed this third-generation Silk Road journey.

Start checking your gear, folks. We head west in two days. Smile

Thanks to Tai'lahr, I am so ready! The rest of how I looked - I could do by myself - mostly free stuff (you really don't have to spend any money on your looks in SL), and a tiny bit of paid stuff. The walk had me stumped. Now I am set!

A new adventure!

I'm also going to try to attend more of the events sponsored by our Uru people.
