OK these look to be the three clearest shots of the concept. They came from Martens gallery.

I just looked at the pics here and to me it brought to mind the Notre Dame Catheral. Just to me anyway. The structure at the top is kinda similar . I agree it would be so great to actually explore the guild hall. I do hope one day we can, even if it is not going to be the whole thing, just to explore some or most of it. It doesn't have to be totally complete, just stable.

Lehm modeled the guild hall. Pictures are here.

We have a picture of the outside and can see some of the underground. I’ve tried to get an idea of the size and model the hall too. I don’t have the patience to work it all out on paper, that is too much like RL work.

I thought about the 3’s and 6’s in the design. See the notes in the image. Seems like 5’s would be more D’ni-ish. I tried that. In the modeling system I chose, pentagons are a real pain. Having everything in 5’s was too awkward. I thought of using the 3 divisions or tower arms. Lehn did six. Four and eight are easier… decisions. For now I’m working on one arm and will copy it through an arc. To reduce work in this system I need to get it textured. Then I can deal with whether 5 or 6 arms or some other number works better.

Whatever, being able to walk through the model in AV form reveals it is huge. My first thought was, “OMG! Where am I ever going to find enough furniture to fill this place up?” This thing could be an age of its own.

Just looked at the date of the images and it says that the image was done in 2000. If that's the case, then this is the DIRT/Mupdie version of the Guild Hall and wasn't intended for Uru Live. Also the structure corresponds well with these renders from DIRT:

actually... there's no reason to say that things from the DIRT/Mudpie era were never intended for Uru Live. After all... much of it /was/. Wink We just never saw it, due to prologue closing, and everything changed after that. =P

Now, I'm sure some things might not have been. But there's absolutely no reason to say "oh, it was done for DIRT/Mudpie, so it wasn't intended for Uru" =P

Also, your second picture is from Choru, the first beta of Uru Live. Wink (After Choru came Ubiru, and after Ubiru cam Prologue... And we all know what happened after prologue.. Uru closed.)

Well the only people who know which stuff from DIRT/Mudpie was intended for the original Uru Live is Cyan and perhaps RIUM+ but apparently he is unsure whether to release his stuff and is working on other stuff.

I'd suspect that others know things, too. Wink Not necessarily as much as RIUM+... but, still stuff. Wink

Btw, I recommend you keep an eye on RIUM+, you never know what he might be up to next Wink

Yes, it does seem strange that a place called D'ni doesn't have any dunnies!

Shorah everyone,

And don't miss Lehm's work, linked above by Nalates. It would be nice to see that old project revived now that we are making progress on a Fan Age nexus.
