too late to vote, but I was there in Prologue. (Didn't sign up for Beta because I was in grad school and had to be good...). I also wasted time playing the single player game through before getting to Live, so it was just an intense few weeks for me. I remember actually calling in sick to work one day so I could finish my markers... if you know me, you know how extreme that was. I'm so stoked that it's coming back, I just hope I can hang on to my job!

Once upon a time I was known as Maximillion von Kloven III (aka MaxKloven) of The Meeting Place.

Well the strong winds of change have scattered several of us from prologue, but its good to see old friends again, and hopefully some new ones as well.

See in the caves,
-MaxKloven

Was in on Prologue in the accidental flood of invites way back in the day. Had an avatar name of Josef on the Atrus shard IIRC.

I had a copy of Uru when it first came out on shelves but I didn't have an Internet connection to play online. Sadly when I did finally get a connection I found out that Uru Live had been cancelled. I was horrified and saddened that day. I look forward to meeting everyone when the new Uru Live starts though.

As with many of the names I remember here I was in:

Beta Tester
Rehearsal Tester (wasn't sure on NDA, but as everyone else was posting it I did also)
Prologue

I played through all of those as KnitCucumber or random other knit fruits and veggies, although I may try out a different name at some point. Was an early and active member of the Guild of Greeters. Still have my original beta/etc email invites on my other harddrive somewhere.

I didn't ever try Until Uru because it was just too sad for me. After hearing all the happy UU stories at Mysterium 06, I wish I'd tried it.

Still haven't played any of the Uru expansions even though I own them. Still haven't been able to afford Myst V. Someday!

I will be playing the new version of Uru when it becomes available. I got overly addicted to World of Warcraft sometime after leaving Uru the first time, so it may not be as much time in cavern as it was before.

I'm getting excited about this again. Very Happy

I was one of the original Beta testers. I participated in URU Live for over a year. I made many good friends during this time, learned to climb the rope up to the tent top, move safety cones and experienced one of the best times in my life.

My cavern name was (and still is) Pa'lua.

Hey Paula,

I got in there after you, but I was in the old 2003 Beta for a long time. I certainly remember you.

Yes, I was in prologue until the bitter end - what a sad day that was - I cried for ages - but it is sooooooo wonderful to be back (almost!) Wink Great to see names from the past here - Shoramin & Chuckles58 from prologue, but also people from "There" (where a lot of us migrated after the shut-down) - in particular zam & Soosi. Lovely to think the community will be reunited again soon. I just need to find SadCrow and everything will be perfect. Very Happy

I was Sally-Anne from Websky Hood on Katran shard. Looking forward to see you all again soon

Hi all,

I joined around Oct-Nov 2003. I played the game, and then signed up for Live. LOL.

I was very lively on the forums as it took another few weeks to get my invite. Smile

If I knew then what I knew now, I would have signed up for Live right away. (Tsk! Should have known better).

My original avi was kit44, (coz I was 44 yo then), but there was a problem in UrU , and all my details were lost, and I couldnt use them, so I made up Mateus, a little more Uru-ish I thought.

I saw the advert for the game on a Ubisoft promo CD that was given to the shop I worked in, (Choicesuk), and recognised the type of music right away. I brought the disc home and played the ad all evening, lol.

I was bought the CD Rom that weekend, and have been involved in some way since, with the game, the TMP, with websites, promos and all manner of different things. And I have never been sad about that in any way at all.

I have petitioned, written, and posted, played, emailed and hosted, but never have I thought UrU wasnt going to be live again.

When close-down came, I spoke at a gathering, and promised June, that UrU would return, and that was brought about in August 2004, with UU, and now were all here again, with the expectation of ULB. I even ran a shard for a time aswell. ( The TMP having had 4 running).

I have had no bringing to bear the forthcoming rebirth, but I am very happy to be here, and the last 3 yrs. I wouldnt have changed anything.

I have met players in RL, and we have had such a great time, I would recommend it to anyone.
I have some really good friends, in the TMP, and I look forward to meeting many more of them.

UrU is the greatest game I have played, and Rand and the Team deserve so much support, and admiration. But apart from that, it has made the most fantastic community I have heard about. It has spawned all manner of ideas, games and music. Brought out such a wide and varied talented team, that is the community.

And so we wait, but its in good hands.

Big hugs to you guys and big hugzz t Cyan. Ty for the trip, it has been great and will get even better.

Mat (mateus)
