Like it or not, communication technology has changes in the last 2 years, and we are now virtually flooded with possible sources of communications. Personally, I have pretty much avoided them all, relying on good old-fasioned e-mail (geez, that sounds wierd!). But my smart phone has made a convenience out of what once seemed trite and intrusive.

I never considered signing up for a Twitter account before because 1) I had nothing important to report to the ether that anyone would care to be bothered with and 2) there was noby who's fleeting fragments of thought I needed to be bothered with.

But it occurred to me that there is a community that until two years ago I was always hungry to hear from and share with -- the Uru Community. Forums are great, but sitting down at a PC (or sneaking time during work) can be tiressome. So it seems to me that Twitter was custom-made for this purpose. Of course nothing will ever replace the forums for posting images, chat-logs, or lengthy discussions. But for announcements, in-the-moment comments, or timely in-cavern reporting, Twitter seems perfect -- I can get them or send them right from my iPhone.
