I don't know if anyone has thought of this, but since the olympics are going on, I thought we could have an URU Olympics, there are plenty of events, from age runs to just running (instanced places of course, to avoid lag). People wouldn't represent countries, they would represent the Prime ages. There are infinate possibilites, and I'd be willing to organize it, if people would be willing to participate.

I'm sure you all remember that we used to have the D'ni Games. There were several events with rules and judges and everything. You might want to search for posts about them. You can also contact Rex Havoc who hosted the last several games. Please be advised that the Olympics is a trademarked name and can not be used.

BTW, I am a two time gold medal winner in the diving competition.

Olympics can be used in a general sense, I would call it something else though. Diving? How do you do URU Diving? hehe

Anyway, I thought Jalak games would work. The D'ni games are a good idea, but the Olympics have a different tone to them. You're representing your "home" age, etc. If the D'ni Games are coming back, then I would respectfully, yet VERY SADLY, back away from the organization attempt. I will try to contact that person, and talk to him about this competition series.

Marker games do work now. They are available after the completion of the 2 x 15 Great Zero calibration marker quest, though.

Hey Keffren,

So my only claim to know anything about this is the fact that I failed to organize the set of games that veralun linked to. Basically a combination of my being too busy and not many people signing up. So while Rex is the person to talk to if you want to talk to someone who successfully organized it, I might be a good person to tell you what not to do...

In any case, my personal suggestion is that you include some events that aren't just racing. I see that you've got stuff like Jalak on there, which I think is great. I also think you could include things like a Minkata event, which would involve navigating, rather than just pressing the forward arrow key. (I feel like a marker quest would work very well there). Also heek, though that's maybe not as fascinating to watch, at least it's something different. A variety of different things to watch would probably make it more interesting, especially things that are specifically programmed in (like Jalak, as opposed to, say, some of the events from past games like tent climbing).

I'm way more busy than I even was back then, so though I can't help out, I'd certainly participate if you got this off the ground!

Thanks. I know I'm not going to be using Tent Climbing, it's a bit too obscure. I know that races aren't everything, I plan to do a ton of events that are Jalak related, because it is MEANT for games. I don't have any first hand experience in Minkata, so I don't know if I want to do that just yet. I completely forgot about heek. That will definitly be added to the list. As I said before Rex isn't active as of right now, so I'm gonna go off of what everyone else says Thanks for the input!

I think the organizing isn't going to be the hard part. It's getting people to participate and getting people to help judge judgable events... Please use the poll, I really want more input. Soon I will start another thread to actually start the organization.
