I recently had my computer serviced and when I got it back my game doesn't work anymore.
when i try to log in it says server not authenticated. Does anybody know what that means and how I can fix Uru?
I have tried just about everything including downloading everything from the site again. Help! I miss my friends:)

try downloading and running the installer again. i had to do that on all my machines to get it to work after the update.

yea same here I click on the Uru icon then the box comes up and says initializing patcher but it never does anything just sits there.

I'm hesitant to post this because it can be risky and may not even be the fix for your issue, but if you want, you can try this at your own risk:

You should first completely uninstall URU via the control panel. Then you can download a Registry Cleaner. I have heard there is a good one here, but I cannot vouch for it personally because I haven't had the need to use it. Then reinstall and see if it works.

There are other registry cleaners out there like reg cleaner / registry mechanic and similar that come with suites like Norton's. Whatever you choose it cannot be stressed enough that you touch your registry at your own risk. Get something wrong and you can make your pc unbootable.

What type of service? Could they have changed your operating system or installed a firewall? If you have a new operating system (or a big enough change) you may need to make sure you are running as admin or given URUexplorer.exe "run as admin" rights.
If you have a new firewall (often comes with new antivirus software) then you may have to have the firewall "trust" URUexplorer.
Exactly when do you get the error message? Is it after you log in? If so perhaps your log-in information has gotten damaged. Easy fix - just retype your account name (e-mail address including the @your ISP.com part) and retype your password.
Jumping into editing the registry is a big task and a very dangerous one. Why not try the easy fixes first.

You could always try the trick of deleting the "tos.txt" file to see if that forces sufficient checking of the downloaded files to kick it back into life.

Make sure you don't have any copies of UruExplorer.exe or UruLauncher.exe running before you try starting the game again (check the Processes tab in Task Manager).

I went into process tab and turned off uru in the task manager but still no luck. I get the not authenticated message and it also says disconnected from server? when i go to uru setup. it has the pelishard as the server.
