Not so long ago, in a comic convention far far away... Leonardo, andrew737 and yours truly had a great day and took a good deal of pics to celebrate it. Here they are!

Cool That's Leo as a S. Patrick's, DRC-loving explorer and me as regular ol' Yeesha (no improvements on the costume yet).

Leo doing explorery things...

"Ex-cuuuuse me? I don't remember giving you that gadget, mister... Confused "

Surprise guest at S. Patrick's parade Very Happy

I see what you did there, Mr "I'm cosplaying myself" (that's his sign). Verrrry clever. Bet you didn't see what we were doing, though...

Bother, bother... should I go all "How cuuuuute" on it, since a) it is indeed cute and b) the Watcher's symbol is a good thing, or should I shun it because some idiot with delusions of grandeur used it in his ridiculous puzzle?

Aw come on, just solve yourself, I've been standing here for ten minutes already...

Nerdy, Myst-y backpack? Yeesha approves, oh yes!

I would like to thank all those involved with the D'mala Memory Book project: it's a work of love that would make any community proud (eh... proud in a good way, of course Laughing ). And Leo for letting me read his printed copy while we were waiting for the cosplay contest to begin. That journal is full of beauty and love and everything Uru and I'm sure that Yeesha herself would like to read it. And then she would smile at what 'her' Gathered have reached. Thank you, guys. You're all amazing, then and now.

I don't know how many of you are familiar with the anime "The melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" - I wasn't. But then this girl, cosplaying as the titular character, started her skit with "My name is Suzumiya Haruhi and I have no interest in the lives of regular people. But if this school houses time travellers, aliens or beings from another dimension [...]" and... well. Time traveller? CHECKjustdon'taskforthespecificsthey'reabitblurryreally. Alien? Heck yes, 87.5% alien, that's me. Being from another dimension? On my mother's side, thank you... ...hey, you looking for me, lady? :p

Oh my god! That's totally awesome!

Hmm... perhaps I should develop an Atrus costume so I can go to one of the many conventions that my friends go to...

Three words: you totally should! Cosplaying is not mandatory for conventions but, well, it's fun. And cosplay pics will be appreciated online even though most con-goers might not recognize your character - as an awesome Atrus put it, Lots of people remember Myst, just not a lot of people remember there being any people in Myst Rolling Eyes

Heh, very true. I could almost picture myself as Sirrus more than anything (more in like to the body) however I'm more Atrus in the mind.

Lots and lots of fun indeed! Very Happy Thanks Almak!

@ Tanshin, some cosplayers would say "go as the character you resemble the most", others "choose whoever you like best", which means that, in the end... as long as it's not Achenar in a tutu, go for it!

Hmmm, I think Gehn in a tutu dancing to O Sole Mio would be best.

Haha, thanks... I hope I'm eventually able to put anything near the level of craftsmanship into my costume as you've put into yours.

I do think that if you want anybody at a convention to recognize you as being from Myst, your best bet would be a Sirrus or Achenar costume along these lines...

Hah! Yes! (OR as Sirrus would say... YEES OH YEESSS!) Perhaps I'll get somebody to go as a blue book too. Who wants to be my brother and shout "I'M FREE!" like a little giddy boy?

You, sir, you are a genius. And your costume rocks.
And now I want to see that.

And, as Achenar would say... sounds like a PLAAAAAAAAAAAAAN. Razz
