Big Fish Games came up in one of my Google Alerts. It seems they have a number of fans for Myst games, which seems odd because I can't find a Myst game on the site. But, Myst fans are everywhere.

Thread on Myst Games: Myst Discussion

Big Fish Games is not a free games place. It's buy to download.

I bought one of their games. Drawn: The Painted Tower. It was really good, but quite different from Myst. I enjoyed it as a change of pace. Very lovely and whimsical.

There's a promotion on now at the Big Fish Games site where you can download Ravenhearst for free. (I don't think this is a secret; I read about it on another public forum.) Add Ravenhearst to your cart, use FREERAVEN as your coupon code, and the price changes to free and you can check out. You don't have to buy anything to get it. This offer is good through August. I've downloaded it but haven't gotten the chance to play it.

I can't imagine they would be selling Myst games themselves, but there's probably quite a large crossover audience. Smile

Big Fish filled the void for me after the Cavern shut down in 2008. Ravenhearst is a good little game and I'd also recommend the Return to Ravenhearst. I still play a lot of hidden object games from BF. It's a nice diversion from stomping Charr in GW.

Hehehe, so true! Guild Wars is something I never imagined myself playing, but my friend got me into it, and I actually enjoy it quite a lot. (And to my surprise am reasonably good at it.)

I agree, Big Fish is totally different from either, but it makes a nice break for when you want to do something low-key. For those who haven't played any: their games tend to be pretty casual. If that's what you're in the mood for, they can be a lot of fun.

Wow, thanks! I'm always looking for a good casual game (yes, I play Facebook games). These games have the added plus in that they are beautiful.

Anna Catherine -- glad you are enjoying Guild Wars. Are you in a guild and alliance? IIt's great because you get access to some stuff and the various guild halls are beautiful.

I am, yep. Smile My friend who got me into the game invited me to be in her guild. The group is small, but that's kind of nice because I know everyone (some offline, even.) I've been playing for about eight months now and completed all the campaigns, so I actually feel pretty at home in Tyria. Smile

I shouldn't drag this thread into an off-off-topic discussion of Guild Wars, though. Wink

We are only a little off topic -- you've completed all the campaigns -- wowie! I've been playing for awhile and I'm nowhere near done.

Not to be too much off track -- but Guild Wars II, looks like it's going to be really, really swell.

Back on track -- what are the really good Big Fish games?

Yeah, I find GW is very intuitive for me, surprisingly. I think a big part of it was picking a class that really works for me (Ranger) and I did all campaigns with that familiar character. I'm Anakita Snakecharm if you want to add me to your buddy list.

GW2 looks really awesome as well. Smile

Back on the topic of Big Fish... I have to say I really recommend Drawn: The Painted Tower. It has a really cool premise, the art is quite nice, and it's a bit more meaty than some hidden object games. I think Myst fan would really like Drawn as a change of pace.

...think of the topic as more about finding Uruites in other games... Smile

I keep meaning to try GW and not getting around to it. Some pictures of the guild halls would be nice...

Still off topic, but I'll get back to it - (should probably start a GW thread) - the Guild Halls are areas of the game that you can set up as a personal space, an instance for guild members. Since the game is beautiful, the guild halls are beautiful, as they are instances of places that exist in the game.

I love GW (though I haven't played in awhile, will start again) -- but it's a multiplayer RPG (though you can play alone, if that makes sense). It's got an interesting architecture -- lots of instancing, it's easy to have have a great time -- but, for Natales -- you don't get to make anything, not like SL or all the virtual worlds where you are involved. You explore the world and follow a the standard gameplay of quests. There's a lot to do. A bunch of Uru folks have played it many still are.

Back to Big Fish, since I seem to have the concentration of a rabbit nowadays, I'd like a simpler game I canplay a little at a time, between the big games. I place Facebook games all the time (really getting into Frontierville), but I'd like something casual and also beautiful and, dare I say it, not too hard. Some of those Big Fish games look like they will do nicely.

I'm a bit of a Big Fish trial version addict. I'll download a dozen or so trial versions, rip through the 60 minutes, and then wait for more games to come out. The did have both Siberia games on there at one point- other good Myst/Adventure type games are any of the Dream Chronicles (sorta Fantasy Myst Lite), the two Azada games (mostly puzzles), The Fall Trilogy (Chapter 1 is out), AGON, Hotel... there's a bunch you can find that aren't just hidden pictures.

I also once bought a few Big Fish games and liked them as a nice casual distraction
and relaxation (Hidden Objects only lol) every now and then until by chance I stumbled
upon two sites providing those games for free, yes, you read that right, for free and
without any ads you can download and play the full versions without any limitations lol... Razz

They don't have as many as Big Fish has to offer and they're adding a new game every
or every other month, but they have already quite a few... Only thing that happens, when
you've played any of your games and close it when you've had enough, it will then open
the main page of their own website, that is really all you have to cope with lol...

So, here we go, please have a look if anybody likes... The First... and The Second...

Have Fun... Very Happy
