As of right now, realMYST, Riven, Uru: Complete Chronicles, Cosmic Osmo, Manhole Masterpiece, and Spelunx are all available on Steam.

Now, onto the questions...

1. Why no regular old Myst on Steam?
2. Is it the DVD release of Riven, or the CD-ROM version of the game?

With regards to RealMyst: I believe they put that version as it is hailed as a "Director's Cut" of Myst. Therefore, it has everything you'd ever want in it.
As for Riven, what are the differences? (I'm willing to bet DVD, and can let you know since I just saw and purchased the Cyan Pack for $20 on there.)

But I don't remember the differences aside from no "Insert Disk #" for the DVD release.

Seconded. I never got to play "realMYST," so now would be a good chance to give it a buy.

I'm glad Cyan got their products out to a larger audience.

Question though: Why is Riven unsupported for Windows XP?

Even if you're just getting Spelunx and Osmo out of the pack, that's still a great price for even the two. It's a phenomenal price for all six! If I was a Windows user and I didn't have all six already, that would be a no-brainer.

Sweeeeet. While I'm personally not extremely fond of Steam (resource hog), this is great exposure for Cyan's products.

Don't worry, you can get the games separately. Look for the developer Cyan Worlds Inc. --- Cyan Worlds is Myst universe games, Cyan Worlds Inc. is everything else.

I'm looking forward to trying out realMYST. I haven't had a chance to play the original in about a decade, so this is a chance to return to an old favorite!

This deserves the following response:

I would suspect that Myst/Myst Masterpiece is incompatible with anything beyond Windows 98. It says Riven will unofficially work on Vista and 7 but not XP... Confused

Cyan should also go and update their website slightly.[/img]

Do these (particularly realMyst and Riven) work any more reliably on modern computers than the Good Old Games versions? I wouldn't mind buying them yet again if it means a flawless experience.

Regardless of whether or not they actually work on my Win7 box, I immediately forked over the $20 for the pack. It'd be worth it just for Riven alone!

Here's hoping this is a step toward more great things from Cyan. Smile

What about Myst 3-5? I'm kinda holding out for the pack until it's a more complete collection... Even though I already have 2 or 3 hardcopies of every game I still like showing my support. *grin*

Well, maybe not Myst 3 because from what I understand that wasn't made by Cyan Worlds. But the other 2?

Keep in mind that purchases on Steam are tied to your Steam account... so you can purchase the game and then download it to any computer that you can log into the service on.

I buy all of my PC games on Steam so I can play them at home and also download a copy to my computer at work for when I have some down time.
