I have an idea!!! (finally) I think we're all assuming that the "Age" is referring to the website itself, and that it's been "lifted from histories." But could this riddle be referring to an actual Age? Hmm, what fits the description...

D'ni/Earth might fit. The closest fit I can think of would be Terahnee/Devokan (lifted from the histories of the books, or from out of history when it was found by Atrus, living new with old breath with the fall of the Tehraneese [with old breath being the D'ni return, laws, or the bacteria, perhaps]). Of course, any resemblance to such an enigmatic phrase could very easily be coincidental (even if it is a riddle).

The number of low-post-count authors posting to this thread is getting suspicious all by itself.

Question

Fresh Blooood!

Maybe they needed time to recover from the Nature of Linking discussion- that brought *everyone* out of the woodwork!

Question

Platt, they're the crowd from the comments sections of the Myst Movie website. Smile Hi there, commenters! Welcome to the hub of all things Uru. Very Happy

Anyway, let's try and interpret what the text on the website means. If it's not a direct quotation, we should be able to find out something from it, as the Mysteriacs will have written it. It means something, that's for sure.

What is interesting are the words "The age you seek". Is this a challenge? Instead of telling us that the website is gone, are we looking for a new website?

"[...] has been lifted from histories, finding its own new properties, and living new with old breath."

If we read this as a clue, this sentence in total says that the website has been moved OR removed. (lifted from histories) and has new stuff. ALTERNATIVELY We're looking for an "age" which is literally lifted from histories? As in taken from historical events? And new stuff? OR has been removed from history. BOT is after all a history, so if you remove the history, that would imply that they're doing something drastic... This would tie in with finding new properties and living new with old breath - still the same project, but different?

"Though it stands the same, it finds a new face - a new timeline - to live."

Now, if we take that as the idea that we're searching for a new website, then this is a restatement of that fact. That doesn't really make much sense. BUT if we take this as a statement of the major change in project line, then this is essentially saying that there's a new timeline? What about a new face? Are we looking at a different book to Tiana?

This can be read in so many ways. This could be a statement of the film's content, the status of the development, or a change in the website. It could be a statement of a change occuring within the Mysteriacs.

Confusing! I'm personally hoping for a major progress update, but if it's a major realignment of the film then I'm worried. :\

EDIT: Thinking about it - if it was lifted from histories, then that could be read as "the project has been brought into the present." SO MANY INTERPRETATIONS.

one thing is interesting... if they were able to find a quote in the BoT that best says what they're trying to communicate...

______

Um...with all due respect, the prose on the site is NOT a quote from BoT...Just say'n... *winks at all who recognize this username

why did i come to that conclusion? my mistake....
... still, as self proscribed "mysteriacs" they obviously know their stuff... but, again, can they make a movie? i have not been quite as up to date on the myst movie deveopments; might anyone be willing to provide a list of any previously released films or other projects the mysteriacs have done?

dedication and knowledge of the source material is a great boon... many film makers have sought video game rights for cheap cash ins (Uwe Boll, i'm looking at you) and their films are both bad and laughably innacurate... Cyan has placed a lot of faith in the mysteriacs where it has been lacking before (SciFi channel miniserries deal that fell through before SciFi channel was the SyFy channel) Cyan is appropriately protective of their franchise... but can the mysteriacs make a quality film and release it to a mass market?

That's been there for a while. It's probably a placeholder put there by IMDB.

I'm here Spy! Same as before. I didn't even think to check over here. You know it could just be the guys changing the 2011 at the top of the page because I think we've seen a similar picture on the site before. But then again that doesn't take 5 days either.

@Spymaster

The wordpress was for the comments, most web site comment sections are powered by Wordpress. And yes, it's pretty obvious that the comment section was moved. Very Happy Anyway we can shoot a message to the guys through Delve Films? There might be an email address over there where we can reach Issac.
