I only have one fish trap to get my fireflies to the end cave. I cannot find any of the stuff that is supposed to start out in the water and had to use the one just inside. How do I fix that?

That is the problem. there is only one trap to be found anywhere. I remember there being at least two in the water and one inside. I have none in the water.

I think he answered the way he did because it sounds like, rather than encountering a technical difficulty, you have in fact not found the answer to the puzzle--that is to say, you are remembering it wrong.
