I was wondering... if the third lever that seems to be broken to activate the third worm gear was ever slated to be 'fixed' and if so, what would it operate?

I have no idea what was planned. But, one can see some of the stuff it could have operated as you walk down the walkway to the basket mount point and look left.

We can only imagine what we might have been able to access.

yeah, whatever it was seems to have once occupied the space that has seemingly fallen away (perhaps sunken, salvaged and later cleared away by sharper?) some manner of machinery having to do with the spore harvesting process. this would have been located near the bucket lifts beyond where the drc baricade is now.

not much to go off of as to what it might have been but it was located near the bucket lifts so that might give some indication.
