Post Posted: Wed Mar 23, 2011 11:36 am — Post subject: An Exploration Of Ahnonay

I'd like to organise an exploration of Ahnonay.
I would like to split this into two groups Beginners and Non-Beginners
The Beginners Group would be just like any other beginners exploration so far.
The Non-Beginners Group, however, would be for those that may have done Ahnonay, but don't understand exactly how to complete the age properly.

Both groups would be shown how to complete Ahnonay properly, but the non-beginners group will be more of a walkthrough than an exploration.

I have no date set for this yet, but I would like to organise it so that the non-beginners go first, and they then help with the beginners as 1:1 help may be required for this event.

I can write up a KI mail to send out at the event.

Any feedback or suggestions please.

Some times explaining how Ahnonay works is a problem. To help with the explanation I made a simulator some time ago. I had hoped to make it less of a spoiler than it turned out to be. Many feel it is a total give away. So, it is marked as a massive spoiler. But, for those that have done a recipe solution, it can provide the insight needed to know why it works.

Ahnonay Map - Simulator This link leads to the spoiler warning.

ahnonay gets dicey with a group of explorers. that age is one angry beast. a large party would prob be illadvised imo. it's difficult enough with one person. two is alrdy pushing it. it's because of the manner of navigating that age and because ahnonay has problems keeping track of the state of things. even if you do things right it can bungle up. just a heads up.

Group exploration of Ahnonay is possible, and it is great fun.

The Meeting Place hood had several group expeditions there during the Gametap era.

You need to make sure that each person has got their own version of the cathedral and Ahnonay books in their Relto before they share anyone else's, otherwise that might cause problems for them later.

Careful coordination of who does what when can result in a spectacular show later down the line.

I really want to participate in this. I haven't found the time to properly explore anhonay, and such an event could give me the push to really think about it. I am however, lightly scared that veterans will get bored and start nudgeing/hinting when beginners don't get it all that fast, as it seems to be an extremely complex age... However, if the date suits me I'll join in any case.

If it reassures you, I can personally escort you.

However, all this is moot until Cyan brings URU back online.

if veterans get bored they should just leave first rather than pushing a group along. besides, it's nothing any veteran wouldn't have already seen before.

Speaking as a veteran, if I was going along, I'd just hang back and enjoy being able to see an old familiar place renewed through the fresh eyes of novices.

Alien there is an interesting back story to that age too. Maybe you might consider telling the story also while doing the exploration. People might better understand what he age is about, what is your thought on this?
