I must be really stupid or something.

Where are all these ages people are talking about?

Do they have to be downloaded like the ages for the offline version? Or is there a secret URL to log into with the MOULa software?


I surely must have missed something. Please help.

Since I cannot give, by forum rules, a "LINK" to an "unauthorised" content, let say that these days there are shards outhere that are not MOSS compatible and that runs those ages.

Look for it in one of the Guild website maybe I can't say a full "YES" but maybe what you are looking for is there.

There are currently no new ages for MOULa (At least on Cyans Server). If you would like specific information on how to play community made ages please ask on the Guild of Writers forums.

Silly me - I had thought that the whole idea of the Open Source thing was to encourage fan-created ages that would not be kept "secret" from the forum, but rather publicized.

Well, current fanages use tools(like Drizzle) that Cyan doesn't like. (For good reasons I think, actually). Until someone either writes an import-only program,(Drizzle can also export stuff from Cyan games, which is the problem), or there are OS MOULa shards, we cannot really explain you how to play fanages on this forum.

And it isn't kept secret. There are many Myst forums and most allow discussion and explanations of playing fan ages.

The problem is that only MOULa is Open Source. Every other version of URU (Like End of Ages) is not Open Source. So as a result information on how to extract/modify other games Cyan has made is against the forum policy. You have to take into consideration that Cyan is not likely to own the Full rights to games other than MOULa, so even if Cyan doesn't mind the company who owns part or all of the rights may mind.

Given that you can find information on GoW's forums/wiki i don't consider this as a major problem, it is easy to find out how to play the ages on non-MOULa games. People can still discuss Fan Ages here, just not how to play them with anything other than MOULa.

So as of yet there are still no official Uru fan Ages?

I've had the privilege of wandering around a fan age in a CWE/dirtsand environment. The GoW is still working on getting that up and running in a state that's stable enough for the general public. Once that happens everyone will be welcome to join the explorations.

Cyan still hasn't made their plans for handling fan ages on the MOULagain shard public.
