I'm doing Yeesha's quest, the Teledahn part. I made it through the slave caves and was now at the little bridge. I kicked it down halfway and just went on, but I forgot to pull the switch in case I want to get back. I linked to Relto, then went back from the office, but the slave cave gates stayed closed and I can't figure out how to reset the puzzle or anything. Am I just totally stuck now? What can I do?

That drawbridge is dastardly like that.

The switches on the wall set the code for the door. Since you had to alter the arrangement of switches to leave the slave caves (which lowered the gate you just came through) the code for the floor plates has changed.

Look at what switches are up and depress their corresponding plates.

there is a handy diagram in the office up the elevator that will help

essentially, a correct code opens the inner gate and closes the outer gate. an incorrect code opens the outer gate and lowers the inner gate. the arrangement of switches on the wall sets the correct code.

OK, here's just another example of the wonderful people here and how this forum was meant to function. This cry for help was answered in less than 5 minutes in an easy to understand and detailed explanation. Kudos. Isn't this what we are here for?

this thread really should not be a poster child for the current status of these forums. that matter does not need to be seeping into every thread opened here.

i appreciate the gesture, but nobody needs to be getting kudo's for doing something simple and expected to make a point.

someone had a question and they expected an answer from someone.

showering me with praise for being that someone kinda gives the impression that others wouldn't care by comparison.
that's not an accurate impression.

the reason praise is being given is in light of recent subject matter. we don't have to go out of our way to prove we're decent people here.

Whoa hold on Main_Avvie, I think you took my post way to personally. When I said 'wonderful people here' I didn't mean just you, I was refering to the majority of those here and making a positive statement as to the value of this forum, especially for new players. I found it impressive that there was such a short response time. If it was inappropriate I do humbly apologize.

not inappropriate at all, no apology necessary. and i know you didn't just mean me and i know your intent was to point out the positive value of these forums. but i didn't think that was necessary. my point is we don't need to go out of our way to prove the positive value of these forums. showering me with praise as an example of that was unecessary, but i appreciate the acknowledgement as much as the next guy. i like praise, though i do try to exercise a degree of humility. Sorry to piggyback on this, but the recent bickering in some of the threads has had the effect of making some people over-senstive to feedback, whether it's positive or negative. We need to restore some sense of perspective, and not over-react.
