I thought I had a clue about computers once.......

Hm, this was before SSE3 was introduced into the client. What is the exact nature of your problem?

Various missing .DLLs. They actually look to be there, but are not 'invoking' properly.

Installing the MSVC redist should fix it.

Yep. And you may as well get the current version of the MSVC 2010 redist. Don't worry if you already installed the older version because in that case the service pack should arrive through Windows Update.

Whoops, that's what I get for using the first result for "MSVC 2010 redist".

Seems to have solved my problem,

Thanks.

Now, where might I share my experiences, and provide feedback?

@ dj_: I would suggest you to open an account on the GoW forum.

You can also post back here if you have any more problems/quests about the build.

Will likely do th GoW thing, may already have that.

I thought I was positive about a few things till I went into my regular Moula program, and suffered the same thing, or nearly the same thing....

That 'thing' is a total system crash, so sever I had to disconnect from AC power to restart. Front panel on/off would not work.

THis happened with the book on the right shelf in relto, I verified that.

I got a similar thing in my regular MOULA, but not quite as severe, the front panel on/off switch did work. THe more sever thing suggests that something was violating, or attempting to violate my bios.

That was on my older desktop, AMD64 running XP home. Perhaps an arcane system comparatively, but for now it is the one in my mobile PC cart. Have not tried to do this on my older Toshiba laptop yet---Intel dual core win7.

Thru the process of installing this I ended up with most all of the mentioned 'add-on' as subfolders to my plclient folder. I would really prefer to say directories but folder is easier to type when laying down.......

Both my pre-existing MOULA and the CWE version (now removed) did the same thing...Crashes as if the CPU core code had been violated. Hard crash, requires a reset at the AC PS.

Re-installed public MOULA over my existing MOULA....NO JOY!

System is a K8T890-A motherboard, AMD Athlon 64, 180 gig HD, 2 gig mem. Win XP Home..

Will uninstall Publi MOULA, and redo as if I was a brand new guy. Then I may try the CWE build but maybe not, It is running on my laptop so no urgency, unless you know, or need to know whether or not this CWE build runs on XP.

That sounds more like the PSU crowbarring Confused . That happens if it goes into an overvoltage or overcurrent state so it shuts itself down until the input supply is removed. Normally the front panel softstart will work so long as the auxilliary 5V is present on the motherboard, but if the PSU goes into crowbar, there'll be no voltages at all on the motherboard.

I'd wonder about: A) a faulty PSU, B) dusty fans/vents causing the PSU to overheat, C) a faulty video card or RAM stressing the PSU. MOUL uses quite a lot of "resources" given the opportunity, so it can work a PC a lot harder than other tasks do. I'd start by opening the beast up and making sure to get rid of as much of the dust bunnies as possible.

Update your drivers and and blow out your heatsinks and PSU. Windows NT 5.0 and above really doesn't totally switch your computer off unless it detects a hardware overheat or something horrible happens in a driver. Even a bad CPU instruction simply results in the OS terminating the offending program.
