- Ghosts of D'ni [overture] -

As I write you this letter, I am standing in the gaze of Kerath's Arch; A sight which had once brought me joy but now stirs something much darker within me. I am not sure what is to become of me, but I know my time here is coming to an end.
Where have you gone? This place once stood full of life, full of joy. Breathing with each breathless gasp we'd taken. You used to stand here, hand in hand with me above the glow of the lake; watching as history reclaimed this city; as it returned to a state that had not been seen in this Cavern for thousands of years. What has become of this place?
I've tossed my Relto book over the ledge. I'm leaning in closer, can you hear them calling? Can you feel their presence in the cavern? It's as though they've returned to claim back what is theirs. To force us out like antibodies on a virus.
I can feel the urge pulling me closer to the ledge. That voice in the back of my head whispering “Jump”.
My dearest Crystal, My love. I hope to see you again one day. I hope that we will once again embrace each other top the D'ni Cliff's, to taste your breath once more beneath the Kadish Arches, to sing your name atop the Gira Waterfalls.
I'm one step away, Crystal. We will return for one another. If only in another time.
