I went through the slave caves in Teledahn. I set the stones to open the other gate but didnt open the other two gates, now I am coming back to finish but cant get in through the two gates. I dont have a page in my book to go past the gates and go back.

Thanks

Hi,

What other two gates are you referring to? You could try going through the sewers again and resume from the cages. There must be a way to get past it, I don't know of any Age (except one) where you can make the puzzles unsolvable.

Remember that the plates must correspond to the levers, so look at the levers and try matching the plates with them.

Hi DHGirl, I understand... you got through the gates, but then linked out, and now cannot determine how to proceed through the puzzle area again.

If you clicked a journey cloth after proceeding through the puzzle, remember that the journey cloth in your book will take you to that last "bookmark" in your Age progress.

If you did not find a journey cloth after completing the puzzle (there are 3 more for you to find), then as draggosh indicated, you'll have to adjust the rocks on the plates to match the current switch settings in the jail chamber. If you flipped any of the 7 tabs at the back, it can be challenging to figure out what the "new" solution should be.

Here is a tip when the puzzle is in its original configuration: If you stand on one of the plates closest to one of the two front gates, you can run through the closest gate before it shuts. Then the gate at the back will open at the same time, and you can walk right through!
Also, if you are truly stuck on an Age, remember that you can always reset the book by clicking on the tab at the bottom of it on your bookshelf. Then, re-collect the book from the pillar. If you do this, you will have to restart your progress on the Age from the very beginning.

Thanks Marten,

Thats exactly it. I didnt get far enough after the prison gates to get a cloth Sad, hence my question. Ill try the plate trick. I did try and move the rocks but Ill try again. I was hoping not to reset the age, but oh well.

Much appreciated

My KI number is 2883.

Cheers,

Sometimes looking through the gate can give you the answer you seek.

Did you see the map of the cage in Sharper's office? If you can read D'ni numbers, that's really useful for figuring out the mechanism.

Dadguy, I suspect that Charura's amazement (and mine, honestly) is that you've got a four digit KI number. I'm guessing you've been around for a while, eh?

Dadguy was one of the "unauthorized explorers" back in early 2010 and part of the group that greeted Marie Sutherland.

@Tai'lahr

I read the whole thread on the DRC site... Confused I don't quite understand it. Do they made that story up or what? As far as I know the "unauthorised explorers" were selected few with an agreement with Cyan to test MOULa server before it went officially online.

This is why I got some old quests made by Ken back in...January 2010 when the cave wasn't even opened for general public Very Happy .

Or maybe it's just that I'm really not an OOC type explorer and I just don't get it at all. I mean the server went down in April 2008, the "Cavern" closed so there wasn't anyone camping in there eating ... quab sandwiches until someone came down and say: "Ohh are you there since April 2008?"

Annabelle, you have the OOC (real) explanation correct, so I think you meant to say that you're not an IC (in character/cavern) type player.

Perhaps the story would make more sense if you started at the beginning when Victor Laxman posted Activity in the Cavern? At that point, Deg picked up on it and posted about it in the Share Your Journey section (because only DRC can post to DRC Discussions): Activity in the Cavern. Once Marie Sutherland met with the explorers in the cavern (for real), Tweek started the Marie spotted thread (the one you just read).

So, yes, the story is true. Marie Sutherland & Dr. Kodama actually visited the cavern over the weekend and met with several of the "unauthorized explorers" (beta testers) and all of their reports about the meetings are true.

Btw, ICly speaking, some explorers claim to have remained in the cavern or made frequent trips there during the closure to continue their work.
