Shorah everyone!

On Feburary 4th, we launched our new shard: Gehn. Gehn represents all the work the H'uru team has done on open source; many of the fixes and changes aren't yet available on Minkata or MOULagain (but of course we hope they will be eventually). If you haven't visited us yet, we have getting started instructions available.

To celebrate our successful launch, we've decided to throw a party. 13:00 KI Time on February 25th on the Gehn Shard. It will take place at the Kahlo Pub, in the spirit of parties both planned and unplanned in the days of UU and D'mala. We'll keep on partying until everybody is sick of it, so if you can't make it right away you should still swing by - there will probably be somebody around.

If you're interested in providing music or other entertainment, we'd love to hear from you.

Is there any way for us Mac-based MOULa folks to access the Gehn shard? I might be able to figure to do so if I understood what the executable file does to set things up (but I'm by no means a programmer). I'd really like to swing by your party this Saturday...

I'm not a Mac guy but I would bet you could do it with Wine Is Not an Emulator(http://www.winehq.org/)*, I never tried it with Linux or Mac OS X so I don't know if it works. I would ask at the GoW site.

* By the way, that is a recursive abbreviation.

I used WineSkin with MOULa and it works great. It was last summer, but I don't recall it being too hard to set up. Also, I just tested last week and it works with Gehn Shard too.

Edit: Correction to Wine wrapper variant I successfully used.

Hey, Ainia and all interested to join the party at this weekend, Deledrius
already informed everyone how to setup a Mac for whatever MOUL version ... Razz

What I'd like to add is that nobody needs to be a programmer to setup the
Gehn shard at all, it is as easy (or not) as setting up MOULa or maybe even
more easy and it is fast ...

If your MOULa installation is up-to-date, means ready with the latest updated
files to the 1.905 version, then you only need to download the very comfortable
Gehn shard installer which will take care of everything, means setting up the shard,
detecting and transferring the MOULa files etc... You only have to sign up with the
GoW forums which will also be your login data for the shard and you're done ...

I would like to join, but chrome doesnt like the gehn shard file saying its corrupted, bad,etc....

Can you get a screenshot of the exact error you're seeing? Your description is too vague for me to give you any advice.

just downloaded, no error messages from chrome.. got in just fine looking at brownish screen after the the camera zoomed down on relto.

You've got the "fly-in" bug. Just Relto out and you'll be fine.

Thanks a bazillion for the wonderful Mac instructions!!

As far as I can tell, everything installed nicely on my MacBook Pro, however, when I start the logon process to Gehn, the interface remains busy for several minutes but then finally errors out with a message about no response from server. This has happened multiple times so far and I've been unable to figure out if there is a problem on my end or if I caught Gehn at a bad moment... This would have been earlier today between about noon and 1:00 p.m. KI time/Cavern time. And I double- and triple-checked that I was using my current GoW username/password and logged out and in at the GoW several times, all to no avail.

(BTW, I also posted this issue at the GoW thread before I saw your post here.)

Any suggestions or assistance would be deeply appreciated!

Today, I am able to log in to Gehn without problems. So I guess my troubles yesterday were a fluke.

I will be there at the party tomorrow!!! Whoop!!
