I went out and looked at the transit with my handy-dandy Eclipse Viewer Mk 1, but the image it cast was too small to see Venus. So, I went back inside and watched the live video from Mauna Kea, via San Francisco's Exploratorium. They had a very good announcer giving brief technical info every half hour or so, and they even gave us a telescope tour of the sun's limb, showing prominences. Very well done. The legacy of Frank Oppenheimer lives on.
