Has anyone heard if we will start the game out in a place like the Cleft as a single player where we need to get to a particular point (like after a Relto) before we enter the multiplayer game?

In other words will it be necessary to solve some puzzles before entering the multiplayer game? Or is there just no information out yet.

I never made it into the first URU Live, did they just drop you into the multiplayer game?

Uru Live won't be single player, and its not starting in the Cleft, they want us to start at the heart of uru (as in the Community)

(The old) Uru Live began in the Cleft -- just like the single-player version. You were still online, but you wouldn't actually have been able to meet anyone until after completing the Cleft and linking to your neighborhood.

(The new) Uru Live will still contain the "Cleft quest," but we've been told quite clearly (as Tweek indicated above) that we will "begin" in a different place and will, in essence, be able to meet with others in the community from the very beginning.

It will be easier for us to sign our friends up for Uru Live and meet them immediately when they log on for the first time.

Actually, I think all Cyan said was that they want players to get to the community sooner. It's possible we may still start in a single-player area. In fact, I expect it to. But, no, I don't think there will be any puzzles in that area. Just some introductory storyline stuff and a Relto book, I would think.

Many things could mean "Not starting in The Cleft, but will have access to it later." Like, say for example, we could start out with a group of explorers in some nearby city, get on a bus and ride to The Cleft. That would count. Very Happy

I'm still hoping for parachuting out of an airplane flying over the volcano. Smile

Desert-skifs?
Riding a whark who suddenly materialized in the lower atmosphere with a pot of petunias?
On a unicycle?

Where do you get your information from? What’s the best source(s) for this type of URU Live information?

The DRC Liaison Site has all the information from DRC meetings and Town Hall chat logs. You can check out the meeting summary section for the most pertinent information. You can also choose to wade through the raw chat logs of the meetings.

Also, al ot of folks seem to miss the Uru Live FAQ. It actually answers many of the questions people have when they first register here.
