Cards, eh? I don't know... It just...commercializes the whole experience. I hope they don't do that (and I suspect they won't anyway). As stated above, profit may be pretty rocky even up to a year after the game's release, so things like 'trading cards' aren't going to be very high on the list, at least for a while.

not playing cards or game cards (like magic)...payment cards Smile

for those would rather pay cash in a store instead of with a credit card online

Ah, duh...see, this is what happens when you don't read all the comments. Embarassed

If that's the case, then yeah, that would be cool- but don't expect to be seeing them in Wal-Mart anytime soon. They'd be better off marketing payment-cards to places like Best-Buy or CompUSA, where PC games and pay-cards for other games are routinely sold, often as a main inventory item.

I think they should do game cards, or at least go through a PayPal option, or even better, a PayByCash options (I've had good experience with that company.). At least that way those of us without a credit card can play. Otherwise i might as well right this one off as another i am barred from playing because i am too young to get a credit card, even though i do have the money and a job to pay for the game. If the company is smart they would have a non creditcard pay feature, to avoid barring off a plathora of potential customers. I know most modern MMO's have a PayByCash or time card feature.

Mr. Green The biggest thing that Cyan has is their name and the games they have put out over the years – the early versions of Myst, limited editions etc are very collectable among enthusiasts. And are bought, sold, and exchanged all over the world. Most avid enthusiasts feel it a must to own every version - even the books are prized (more so now as the early individual books are out of print). They are collectible simply because they are rare.

I’m not for ‘trinkety’ merchandise a dime a dozen so to speak – but it might be a good idea to issue a collectors item of something – a limited issue - limited by time. Which would be bought by avid fans? Perhaps it could be made available after a member has played a certain amount of monthly subscribed games (this is only a suggestion). Perhaps someone can come up with a better idea in the same vein.

I’m just after something to add to my collection I guess… wouldn’t mind a linking book, LOL.
