I find it funny that most arguments expressed here for the shut down of the UU shards would be competition with the UruLive. How is that possible?
UruLive will be a completely different animal from what I am inferring from the information on this site. Unless some serious fan modding occurs Until Uru would never compete with the Live content. UU could never *significantly* compete with UruLive.
Another issue I see is that Cyan is NOT just out to make money here folks. They are probably not out of the woods yet, but I am sure any small percentage of competition UU could possibly provide is not even on their radar.
That quote from Moke disturbs me a bit because I had heard rumors we would be allowed to keep running UU. If that is not the case then Cyan would lose some Live customers from that as well. About the same write off percentage they would get from competition. I would probably still go into Live but I know a few UU fans who would see that as a deal breaker.
One thing that bothers me as well is some of the people I *thought* were big supporters of UU are now turning their backs on it. Turning their backs before it even has a foot in the grave. Classy.
I don't see any downside to keeping UU running. By the time UruLive is a year old it will have evolved way past anything UU could possibly acheive. UU would not compete with anything Live will produce. UU will only have fan made content, which after reading some posts here, is pretty undesirable to some UruLive fans anyway so only supporters of fan content will be using it.
Ya don't want UU around anymore? Don't use it. Ignore it and leave us who do still want it alone.
