If there's anything I'd like to see that's religious, it's the Temple of Yahvo. It's been around since the Cavern was moved into, and experienced various updates and renovations. Imagine the history there; after all, it is the temple of the founding religion of D'ni.

Yeah, Calam, I did a little historical research and found out that the Temple was built where the Guild Hall is now located, and that with the fall of some of the earlier Kings the temple was destroyed.

This is a short timeline of the Temple of Yahvo:

63 - Building of the Temple to Yahvo - the Regeltovokum. (The Regeltavok of Oorpah is a book of prophesies believed in by Ri'neref.)

-------------------------------

643 - Completion of the Temple of the Great King, also specified in the prophesies. Gold throne moved here from Temple of Yahvo.

-------------------------------

1376 - Ahlsendar takes advantage of civil strife among the Pento to return to D'ni, fulfilling the prophesies of the Great King. Pento and Judges are defeated. Coronation of King Ahlsendar.
1466 - Ahlsendar's family killed by Pento leader Mekarr. Ahlsendar destroys Pento Age with bio-weapon plague. Plague is carried to other Ages by sick Pento.
1501 - Ahlsendar sealed into Temple of the Great King on Lífo 23 with all infected Books and all Books linking the D'ni to their past. Temple of the Great King renamed as Tomb of the Great King; Coronation of King Solath.

--------------------------------

1817-1902 - Cult temples sanctioned and encouraged by King Me'erta are built along a proposed new line for the Great Zero. Temples of the Tree (1843), Water (1876) and Sacred Stone (1902) are built. Few adherents of the Temple of Yahvo remain.

--------------------------------

1999 - Seal of the Tomb of the Great King secretly broken by request of Jolatha. Jolatha sickens and dies after taking many Books from the Tomb to the Temple of the Tree. Me'erta re-closes the Tomb and strengthens the seals.

--------------------------------

3112-3123 - Grand renovation of the Great Temple using handheld-extruder technology. Fahlee, greatest artist of the D'ni Renaissance, selected to paint the inside of the Great Temple.

--------------------------------

6970 - Began construction of new Guild Hall, further burying the Tomb of the Great King.

-------------------------------

So at some point in the furtue a new excavation team from the DRC will need to decide if we can open up the area below the Guild Hall to explorers for restoration... Cool

The Temple of Yahvo and the Temple of the Great King are two different things, in two different locations. Nowhere is it said that the Temple of Yahvo was destroyed, and the Temple/Tomb of the Great King simply had layers of new construction placed above it, further sealing it off. It was not destroyed, either.

Yes, Brett, is absolutely correct. I should have stressed that I was speaking of the Temple of the Great King who also worshipped Yahvo.

As for the Temple of Yahvo we know only that somewhere between 0 DE and 8 DE that the Surveyors in the D'ni Cavern establish a Zero mark and line, as was customary for Ronay Ages. This mark became known as the "Great Zero." A monument was erected on this spot. Construction along the line emanating from the Great Zero was reserved for holy buildings. Other construction along this line was prohibited without the King's permission.

The construction of the actual Temple of Yahvo was probably built along that line emanating from the "Great Zero". The construction began in 48 DE and was finished in 63 DE.

We may are may never know the exact location of the Temple of Yahvo. King Solath's son King Me'erta suggested that the line of the Great Zero was inaccurate. Although he does not change the line, all of the religious structures built during his reign are aligned with his proposed redirection of the line.

These were the later Temole of the Great Tree, Sacred Stone, and Water. Three separate temples.

After this we do not have much on the Temple of Yahvo, but the Temple of the Great King became known as the Tomb where many of the plague books.

It became the Tomb of the Great King Ahlsendar who was sealed within the Temple of the Great King in 1500 DE.

It was King Naygen who proposed the construction of a new Guild Chamber, and also proposes that it be built on top of the Tomb of the Great King in 2500 DE. It was begun in 2502 DE and finished 2504 DE. At this time the old Temple/Tomb of the Great Kind is barely visible.

In its time the Temple of the King was the official temple of the official Church of Yahvo, comissioned by Ri'neref himself and completed in 63 DE. It was heavilly rennovated in 3112 DE by King Rakeri, and featured many paintings by the famous D'ni Renaissance painter Fahlee.

Nothing is truly known about the first holy building name the Temple of Yahvo that I've been able to find in the records so far. Correct me if I'm mistaken.

I'm sure the monoliths are of King Shomat who had the Ages written. Sure it's mentioned in one of the journals, but could be wrong Confused

I don't know why this constitutes a spoiler, but what the heck: The garden Ages released by the DRC were written during the 8100s DE, more than 7000 years after Shomat died. Given Shomat's history, it is very doubtful that the D'ni of that time would have been erecting statues in his honor.

Actually, I have a different idea about that particular Age (and mind you, this is pure speculation)...

Brett is right. The timeline is off and the Shomat story book is a ruse - perhaps Nick was reminded of the story being inspired by this Age. Eder Kemo was likely written by Solath for his wedding to Jolatha. The monoliths represent the Priestess, as the Bahro painting next to the door represents the curse upon the union with the Priestess holding up a broken binding line. Eder Delin could very well be Shomat's garden Age since the DRC has yet to release their data on that Age.
