My wife and I joined Until URU at different times, so were assigned to different neighborhoods.

Later we both created our own neighborhoods, and have no problem inviting the other into our personal neighborhood. But, we would rather be permanently in the same neighborhood.

At this point we are trying to:

1. Figure out how to delete one of our current neighborhoods.
2. Join the other's neighborhood permanently.

Someone told us that one of us must delete their Relto, and that the other should then share their Relto with the one that deleted theirs. We cannot figure out how to delete one of our Reltos. It is not on the bookshelf.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

It isn't your Relto you need to delete, it's your neighborhood book, thus removing yourself from that 'hood. Then you go to the other person's Relto and share that 'hood book, thus joining that 'hood.

For the player with the hood you want to keep, there is a latch at the top of your relto books. Open the one for your hood. Your partner will then delete his/her hood book by clicking on the icon at the bottom of the hood book. You will be asked if you want to delete your book. Say Yes and it will slide toward the back of the shelf. Make plans ahead of time to meet someplace, I'd suggest the city. The person with the "Kept" hood now needs to share his relto book with the other player. Get close together and face each other. Open your relto book and click on the share book page. You should now have a small book for an icon. Click that icon on your partner. A book should open for them and they should click on the relto page and link to your relto. Once there, they need to go into your hut and link to your hood using the now shared hood book. That's it. You are now members of the same hood. Very Happy

Thank you guys very much!

We were able to successfully delete the unneeded "hood" per your excellent instructions. Now, my wife and I are happily exploring ages in a common neighborhood.

This world is great, and we are having much fun exploring. I can't wait for the new Live to hit this fall. I suspect that I'll be living in this world instead of so much EQ2 soon. What a rush!

Have you guys read the three Myst books, Atrus, Ti'ana, and D'ni? I just completed the Book of Atrus. Excellent and informative reading.

I'm sure that quite a few of us have read all three. My favorite is Book of Ti'ana, followed by Book of Atrus, followed by Book of D'ni. In my opinion Book of D'ni starts out great and then kind of gets bogged down. All of them contribute interesting background to the larger story.

There is an Un-slim volume available entitled "The Myst Reader" which contains all three books.

It is difficult to get a hold of in Europe and my partner got mine from the US.

ISBN 1-4013-0781-7

I am short on any other detail as It was a wanted Christmas present. Very Happy

Amazon.com has the Reader for $13, with a $20 list price. They also have used copies for around $7. So that gives you an approximate price range; this isn't a book you're going to have to sell your house to buy. Smile

Hi Digital Darrell, it's nice to meet other Uru couples.

Myself, (Envie) and my love Nox, are both exploring Until URU together for the first time as well. I was in the previous Uru Live years ago but by myself and have always wished the game had not fallen through as I love to share games with my real life partner - adventuring together. This is something we are now being given the rare chance to do again and this time I didn't pass up the chance to get him an invite into Until Uru with me!

Like you, we had a bit of trouble figuring out how to get assigned to the same neighborhood together permanently and we were tired of constantly trying to meet up in one or the other neighborhood to explore together. He's the smarty that finally figured out how to delete the neighborhood books and invite each other to one. I had forgotten from the previous beta so many years back, how to do that.

I'm hoping Uru Live attracts many more gaming couples and families as it's a great world to explore together, even young children can manage an avatar and learn to jump! (My 9 and 12 year olds are curious too...)

The best part is sharing your books and ages and solving the puzzles together... this is the MAIN reason I was such a supporter of the original Uru Live. No other Myst series game had a multi player component and I was always so LONELY exploring the beautiful ages and frustrated on the puzzles without any help. Now that Nox and I explore them together (though I've solved them in the past), I find it much more relaxing and interesting to see the puzzles tackled from someone else's perspective.

Looking forward to much more new adventures in the new revived Uru Live!

When you've created a neighborhood, is there anything you can do to administrate or customize it? I seem to recall reading about in Until Uru where owners could active/deactive the clock and other similar things, or was that just hacking the server config files?

Also, is there any distinction between the neighborhood creator and neighborhood members? (i.e., does only the creator have the power to kick people out, etc...)

Thanks!

Post Posted: Thu Dec 21, 2006 3:22 am — Post subject: How do I change the name of my hood?

I created a hood and have been trying to change the name of it, but not having any luck. I tried typing the name over "Fallstar's Bevin" in the description, and also tried clicking on "Neighborhood" (the hotspot title) where that shows "Fallstar's" but no luck there.

How do I change the name?

Also, is it a known bug that the hood is constantly changing over to private?

Yeah, I'm having the same problem. I tried to make a 'hood for the DLF, but I couldn't change it from "Ian Watson's Bevin."

I don't think Live will allow us to toggle on/off any of the decor in the hoods that we create.

Your second question is interesting, as I noticed (after creating a hood) that in my hood settings it said there were 10 owners of the hood. Also, my hood is constantly being toggled to Private setting. Confused

Right now the only way control the hood name at all is to create an avatar with the name you want and use that to create the hood. That's how "Uru Obsession's Bevin" was created.

The public/private thing is apparently a known bug. The UO forum was public this afternoon, then disappeared, then reappeared. I guess all you can do is have all the members keep an eye on it and keep resetting it back to public as necessary.

I think that every member has equal status with the creator, but I can't remember for sure.

Thanks Brett, I suppose I'll keep the current name until a fix is made. I'm not sure when the next vault wipe will occur, so it's not a big deal. I'll consider the other option you mentioned, a second avvie. Very Happy
