I have a guess that destruction could involve someone changing the descriptive books for ages we've seen, thus destroying the link to the worlds we knew and forging links to alternate realities.

This makes an easier way for Cyan to produce new content for N'Uru, too... Remember how some explorers said that Eder Delin looked like a variation of Eder Kemo? Well, Cyan can take Ages we've been to already, modify ("destroy") portions of them, and release them as brand new Ages at some point in the story. We get new puzzles in ages that are eerily familiar... Cyan can produce these updates with less effort than designing brand new Ages.

I still think that it is unlikely that Cyan will be removing content in the foreseeable future. It just doesn't make sense: The whole point of UU was that it is UL with NO NEW CONTENT: Even if the content changes periodically, it is still on the same level of poor design if the amount of content remains constant, if Kemo goes, Delin comes in, Kahlo comes, Teledahn leaves...

It doesn't make sense

Actually, it does make sense if you think about it this way:

Cyan has indicated that "episodes" of Live that have ended can be "replayed" by visiting the Ae'gura Library. To me, that suggests that:

* Ae'gura isn't going to be subject to destruction - something else will.

* Ages will change over time. To visit how those Ages once were, we'll have to visit the Library. It isn't clear how this will fit into "IC", but somehow, the Library will let us "go back in time."

Content won't really go away permanently... but along the storyline it will.

Granted, I'm speculating based upon bits and fragments of what I've read, and I'm quite interested to learn where I'm right and where I'm wrong. Smile

That reminds me of the end of Prime. "The least are becoming greater. They will now also affect the restoration, perhaps not the way others have planned."

Something to think about, perhaps... or maybe the idea has been thrown out by now, who knows?

I agree with the idea that only the storyline will change but the content could be reviewed from the library. Piecing together the info I have read, I could see actually some new ages yes, older age content becoming more integrated as new content comes out, and the prospect of delving into Yeesha's story even more. It might take on a whole episode of following Yeesha as she changes the worlds she visits/creates, as well as the rest of her story that will lead up to a more complete understanding of what as happened before EoA. There are many things that could be added into episode content that would easily allow a lot more of the story, exploration, and understanding of the ages' histories than we currently know of.

It might even be able to go further into the story of Myst Island. For those who have finished EoA, it would be nice to see the change to what we know of it, to what we see of it there.

I'd prefer to see it changing back...Smile

If anyone's interested, my heretical take on the timeline issue (written before we knew Live was returning) can be found on DPWR at the end of a long story called "Making The Best." You don't have to read the whole thing (though it would be nice if someone did... Razz )
