MO:UL is special in that it saves your game state on the servers. It does not mean that any other game on GameTap does this. Therefore, it's true that your MO:UL game state is saved on the servers even when you remove it from your computer. It is therefore possible to play your MO:UL progress from any computer which has GameTap installed while adding and removing GameTap at will. It is also true that other GameTap games, but not MO:UL, keep their game states locally on your computer. Removing them could remove your game states. You cannot expect these games to carry your progress from computer to computer or survive removal. Not everything works the same. You'll just have to know this. Obtuse answers do, however, make it more difficult to learn these things.

...so basically what I said, except a) worded differently, and b) including info about other Gametap games, which I clearly stated I know little about.

Yes, your cool reasoning does help, JWPlatt.

Thank you for saving the focus of Thanakar's problem from drifting obscurity.

Thankfully I can still access uru via my laptop when has never had the beta client installed. I have tried several different ways of uninstalling uru from my main pc and have reinstalled the game eight times now and each and every time I get 'failed to launch uru' after the checking for updates popup. I can't even tell if its trying to access teh network since there is no online activity during this phase. I'm still waitingto hear from support about this issue, i've had no word back since submitting the ticket. Only thing it seems is some dll or something that is hanging around from the beta install and conflicting with the live version..I just have no clue and probably wont' see a fix short of wiping and reinstallign the drive , something i'mnot about to do.

Hello,

I had this problem too, and support was not able to figure it out. Luckily, I have a brilliant computer geek boyfriend who spent several hours working on my computer. He got things working again by moving Uru Live out from the Documents and Settings folder (Under All Users, Application Data, GameTap, Games, then 140000150, he says) to Program Files, then making a shortcut to Urulauncher. You will have to run Uru from the shortcut, and not Gametap's thing, or it will try to download it again, and give you the failed to launch message. He says it has something to do with access permission or security policies. Anyway, it works now, yay!, and that's what matters.
