Well -- that might be excessively harsh. I mean really, anyone who can tell schist from gneiss in the dark deserves some credit! Confused

Got that right.... Cool

I was taking the basic portrayel of a full blown negative narcissist... and then, as you recognized, highlighting only the one's of that basic pattern that probably fit Kodama; and, yet, must reserve judgement myself till I am able to meet and profile him personally.... Wink

Well, I was there last night and I think what you've said hits the nail on the head.

He was somewhat aloof and was just wandering around answering questions as he saw fit and not really addressing us. Was a very odd experience, he acted as if we weren’t even there!
At least he answered some good questions though, I must give him that

The character earthwizard describes is fascinating -- layered and nuanced. I don't see that in Dr. Kodama's character. He seems constantly annoyed, as if under some strange, tectonic complusion to mix geology and gratuitous rudeness.

Wow! If you ever write a book, let me be one of the first to buy it! You have a way with words!

Actually the character I see in Kodama is almost opposite of earthwizard's. He's hard-working to the point of obsession (he's missed trips to the surface to do work). He dislikes any excess in anything. Everything he says is straight to the point. He takes responsibility for mistakes, but he never makes them Very Happy . And I also don't see him as a manipulator. Maybe he pushes people to his standards, but I've never seen him be manipulative.

Oh, then my first impression was closer after all: click here.

Now I realize that I must meet this man to get a real close up profile... Wink

ooooh the vagaries of second hand information.... oh what will I do? I feel like the rabbit in Alice in Wonderland.... "What time is it? Oh, I'll be late for sure..." Razz
