For those that may not have noticed this, I thought I’d make a thread about this.

He basically says that The Museum will be open this week and the age of Negilahn will follow very shortly.

For those who like to analyse the good Doctor’s personality, there are some real gems in this log

How are the folks who don't read this forum supposed to find out about this? Can news flashes be posted on a imager page in the Bevins that rotates with the other photos? Explorers could always check there first when they login.

This is somewhat of a contentious issue right now. I think most of us would like to see some sort of log of events in-game.
I believe that Cyan will use the Library eventually as a place to keep past records, but for now we will simply have to request and wait

Actually, romer makes a good point. someone should type out a summary of encounters like this and post it on the imagers in highly populated bevins, like UO, GoG, ABB... This would fulfill the purpose of the imagers, and probably be more effective than trying to send a "newsletter" to people. which tends to either annoy them, and relies on one person to be the sender. Go put bulletins on your hood imagers!

We have a Cavern Communications Network and a problem. Though they are ideal for sending newsletters (KImails) to imagers, they probably can't, as only a member of a 'hood can send to its imager.

Next best thing - they produce a flier, send it to a member and have them post it? (Who does A Beginner's Bevin though?).

There's always the ole Town Crier method! Walk through the City and the Hoods and spread the word? "Here ye, Here ye! Kodama says Museum to open soon! Age I can't pronounce coming too! Here ye, Here ye! Anyone got a Ricola??"

That's pretty much what I was suggesting. find members of the hoods and give them the text to post.

The problem is that this is not permanent and possibly annoying. the imager method is voluntary (don't read it if you don't want to) and doesn't require the physical presence of the poster. it'll be there at 3:00 AM when you're not around crying.

note to nadnerb: The Town Crier method was what we call on the surface "a joke." Not serious (and not really crying either).

Now remember, folks, that not all of the information that comes from the mouths of IC players will arrive in a timely manner, or ever arrive. Things change that can affect the story.

It's because of all of that that it would be really nice to allow everyone to know what is going on, if they want to.

How?

Well, maybe it is time for you news hounds to start a News and Story Bevin, or the Newsroom Bevin where you post on your Imager and you have your Reporters hanging out there to explain the news to anyone who drops in.

I would like to see the DRC post the information on the 'Official" DRC web site. The majority of explorers should know about that site. This does not preclude the other good ideas here, I would like to see them implemented as well, as useful explorer efforts, but I personally would like to see more happening on the DRC official web site. http://www.drcsite.org/news/

The D'net has a KImail service, and is putting together a team of Heralds.

We have decided, though, that just reporting on past happenings in D'ni, like a member of the DRC dropping tidbits in a hood, is really out of our scope of practice. If the DRC was to ask us to formally announce a pod Age, like they did Delin, we'd be right on it.

I think, in these cases, it's up to the explorers themselves to spread the news, just like in 'real' life, when something happens that is not covered by a news agency, or other information service.

Right now, the resources to do so are very limited. KImail and individual hood imagers. D'net is trying VERY hard to sit down with the DRC and discuss options for getting information flowing down in the cavern in a streamlined and reasonable way. If you have ideas, please let us know.
