My other Suggestion is to have an actual reason to calibrate the great zero, other than bragging rights

Fanmade ages would only further the promise of unlimited never ending content though. Even if it's nothing that will move a story forward.... the ability to explore worlds of someone else's imagination would be a HUGE treat.

As for the Great Zero... we don't exactly KNOW what will happen when it's calibrated. I'm sure there's more than just "bragging rights"... the KI's GPS system will likely start working... that'll also allow us to make marker games of our own... and who knows what else the GZ affects that we DON'T know about yet.

The Great Zero is a lot of unknown technology still... so let's just keep working to recalibrate it and see what will eventually happen. (Cautious Optimism)

What I think will happen is that there will be a library somewhere or a certain linking book that has links to all the fan-made ages. If you don't want, for some reason, to go to fan-made ages, then just don't visit those ages.

I don't think that Cyan will "incorporate" them into any storyline they make. Hopefully fan made ages will have their own story developed by the people who made the age.

Also, I think you're a minority. In general, people want fan made ages to be available.

For what reason do you not want fan-made ages?

I'm sure Cyan has a rigorous screening process for accepting Ages. They are selling this game, you know. They won't be crap.

I am hoping to see fan made ages. Open the library door and lets take a look. Not having fan made ages is like telling everyone on the surface to stop writing books and filming movies because I've seen what I like.

I too want to see fan made ages - if these conflicted with the underlying logic of the universe in which the game is set, I would agree with you grilox, but they are totally in keeping with it - Age Creation, the Art of Writing, is central to the in-game universe - and, as with any art, one starts off with little knowledge or skill and gradually progresses. It stands to reason that as part of D'Ni society there would be a multitude of Ages that exhibit a wide range of mastery of the art - from Baby's First Age all the way to masterful, detailed and multifaceted ages worthy of Atrus or Katran - fan created ages can admirably fit into that niche of the game.

Plus, I agree with others who say that it will deepen the experience of the game, provide entertainment, etc. between official Cyan releases - fill the gaps, as someone has said elsewhere.

Again, if this is not an aspect of the game that you personally would enjoy, visiting them will likely be optional. However, I have a feeling that taking a peek at what fans have made will be hard to resist, even if one was at first opposed to the whole thing.

Er, well this is really what I want. What I meant was, "Don't incorperate Fan made ages into the official story" but I didn't say that very well, sorry

Yes, I agree with grilox's later post-don't involve fan ages into the official storyline.

But they should be allowed and than either screened by the Guilds or the DRC, or Cyan.
