How to find other players in the game

Hi i just startede player uru live but where is everybody ?
Where do i have to travel to play with others ?

Welcome to the cavern and our community, scootergrisen ...

There is e.g. an 'Age gathering' on every Thursday at 13:00 PM KI time. Sometimes they meet in the city of Ae'gura beforehand, sometimes they directly meet somewhere else around the cavern ... Please, look into this thread in the 'Events' section of this forum, where you'll now see janeerah's post and meeting point for today ... Just write down janeerah's KI number(s), add this to your 'Buddies' list and contact him via KI , means click on his name and ask him to tell you where to go ... He's very kind and gentle and will be happy to invite and meet you ... Enjoy ...

Well, I don't really know how far you are yet - the things janaba talked about require a basic understanding of some game mechanics - but if you are completely new and have not yet gotten a KI you should check out one of the many beginner's guides. uruguide.webs.com is a good one - ignore the GameTap and "episode time" stuff though, that's no longer true.

Once you are in the public city you can just ask the people there for help. I'm not a very active player right now, so you'll probably not meet me, but there are many other friendly and helpful people out there.

Just to let you know, the Guild of Greeters website will be going down sometime next week and will be offline for at least a couple of weeks after that. Hopefully it will be back up sometime in the latter part of October once it finds the internet in its new physical location (assuming it survives the move).

I have found some other players now.
Guess i just need to play the game some more to understand.
I have played the 1 player game some time ago but never managed to get into multiplayer.
But am i right in that in multiplayer you are suppose to help each other with puzzels ?

Welcome to the cavern!

You will find that there are a few puzzles that can be solved only with the help of others. Most of your adventures can be done solo should you prefer, though exploration can be a great deal more fun in the company of others. You might enjoy finding a few other new folk in Ae'gura and exploring the Ages together (though to explore together, you will need to learn more about using the KI and Nexus). Mac's book should help with that bit.

Yeah..... that's pretty much the way to beat the game, man. Just keep at it, until it becomes clear.

There might be places where you definitely need another player... but there are also a lot of people, experienced players who are pretty good at giving helpful hints that don't just spoil it for ya. If you ever get stuck, it never hurts to ask for a little advice.

Uru is not a game to "beat," IMO (especially with limited content, you want to make it last as long as possible).
Enjoy the exploring, read the histories, take your time and the "ah ha" moments will be sweeter. :wink:
