According too the "Code Of Conduct" at http://mystonline.com/en/play/code-of-conduct/ :
Quote:
You will not use any automated scripting or “macroing” tools or software without the prior written approval of CW.

I think Lyrobot counts as a "macroing" tool and OHB needed permission from Cyan to use OHBot in the game:
Quote:
OHBot has received special dispensation from Cyan to operate in the cavern. In short, they like him!

Cyan has given us written permission to "hack" the game by posting about The Fun House on this forum.

EDIT: I fixed this post so it showed up but it was invisible when Lyristor responded to it, so he was essentially not responding too it. the URL tag seemed too be causing the problem.

I have still not received Cyan Worlds' opinion on this subject, despite several inquiring e-mails. Having received no complaints either, and using OHBot as a precedent for Lyrobot, I believe the commonly consented use of Lyrobot outside of The Fun House (with no disruptive effects) once per month for 1-2 hours won't pose any problem for anybody. This is why I consider Lyrobot's use for the AGM "fair use". If I receive a message from Cyan Worlds requesting the removal of Lyrobot from non-FH instances, at worst, I can reprogram him fairly easily so that he can manage the AGM from a distance... even though this will be much less user-friendly.

So far, nobody has objected to Lyrobot at the AGM (as long as he's quiet), and Doobes (as the moderator of the AGM) has expressed great positive interest in Lyrobot's AGM mode. 8)

Also, remember that those terms of usage were written two years ago - before The Fun House, open-source, and so much more (and before MO:ULa was in such a desperate situation).

Anyone can start a chatlog, what is the point of Lyrobot being there where he can't do what makes him special anyway?

Also you can say "linkto negilahn" to Lyrobot, but then he goes to Ahnonay... I can only assume that's because of similar letters in their names. Negilahnonay!

Thanks for the bug report!

And he's there so that he can automatically generate the cleansed chat log (an extremely time-consuming task) and manage the question queue (if people agree to make use of him).

Sounds useful. I don't think Cyan would object to your use of him in this use.

P.S. I just noticed now that my post is not showing up. It does not matter though since you addressed the issue.

(Actually, I did respond to your post - I just quoted it and looked at the text.)

* locate command reveals your current location's coordinates.
- Miscellaneous bug fixes.
* New climb, climbdown, walk, run commands added.
- Reduce amount of erroneous entering/leaving messages in the Age Chat.
- Remove registration reminder.

ask him nicely... maybe I should stop threatening him when I ask him for something... "warp me or you will have a missing bolt in a near future!!!"

nice feature...
Lyrobot tells "Annabelle, you're arrived in the XYZ Age and ready to go"
Annabelle tells "Good Lord!, yeah I can see my full pixels and I have my full mobility, Thanks for letting me know though!" while running away from the linking spot

I'm not sure with this one...
See, it looks like a nice functionality...until an annoying character wants to annoy you by following you... (The only thing I see is to kick that guy out of your current age which can be done if you are in your private age only. Except, it doesn't prevent that person to come back) :?

EDIT: it looks like I'm safe with that last functionality... "specify his name"  I'm safe  "sorry guy, you cannot link to where Annabelle is, she is a female"

No, he notifies you when HE has finished linking to another Age, with the linkto command, not you.

How can someone prevent such a scenario? Place the follower on ignore? I don't recall atm, but does that keep them from seeing you online in the KI?

This really should be a two step process that makes it by mutual agreement. Perhaps Lyrobot could notify the recipient and say, "(avatar name) would like to join you in your current location; may I warp them to you? Answer "yes" or "no."

Hmm, I didn't think there would be so much concern; remember that this only happens inside the Fun House, in the same Age. However, if you truly want a way to disable it, I could set up a block command to block certain players.

Ah, sorry, didn't realize that. That makes it optional. No problem, then. :)

You do raise an interesting point though. :P Would you enjoy being able to link to players' Ages through Lyrobot, assuming they confirm and authorize it?
