Is it possible to have Lyrobot receive marker games from players (ignoring it if he already has it), list which games he has (maybe on the website) and send out marker games on request?

Basically become a repository for marker games?
It could help when people are after certain marker games (how often have I heard people asking for a certain game?)

I'll be going on vacation to a location where my computer shall be unavailable for use; therefore, Lyrobot shall be offline for about a week or two, maybe more.

When I come back, though, it won't be long before version 1.1.0 comes out. Expect a new notes feature, more commands, and various fixes.

On an unrelated note...

A friend of mine suggested I might have followers (although what exactly they're following right now is a bit unclear to me :roll: ). In any case, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a development blog about Lyrobot, or if me just posting on these forums is sufficient?

Oh, and Alien, I'll start work on that after I've finished translations. :wink:

what a wonderfull idea for old/new/old explorers that search for good marker games and are willing to share actively, too.

I have returned from vacation, and so has Lyrobot, with a shiny new version number. 8) What's new in version 1.1.0?

The big new feature is the Notes feature, which allows you to write a note on the web then read it in Uru by PMing a command to Lyrobot. With it comes (supposedly) increased stability, an improved link command and a few other tweaks. Full release notes below:

* Automatic deduction of portal time requested (when no portal is specified).
- Crash recovery and diagnosis capabilities.

* Sound added to Age Chat.
* The "link" command can now link you to public instances on demand.[/spoiler]

I am sorry if my suggestion is tricky to make a reality. I thought that Lyrobot would only be doing what we can already do, send & receive marker games, with just two small problems for you to overcome : the number of games would be huge, and the KI has a limit to how much it will store (but it seems to ignore this if people send you something) and what does Lyrobot do if two people send him the same game? How does he recognise the duplicate so he can delete it? (I was hoping the KI already recognises duplicates, and simply overwrites the previous game).

I have to admit, I do not have the knowledge or skills you have shown, Lyrositor, so my suggestion was made out of hope & ignorance, I hope you don't mind, but it is something people have wanted for a long time.

With so many new features and fixes you might need some vacation ... 8)

Welcome back, Lyrositor, and thank you however ... I've looked into all of this
as far as possible, means offline ... There are some new commands incl. the
new ones linking to the public instances, I've been writing a 'test note' to see
how and if that'd work and got my ID number, I couldn't hear any sound within
the 'Age Chat' by now, maybe because Lyrobot isn't 'really online' although he
pretends (as of the web interface) to be lol ... :P

No, really, I just logged in and The Fun House Nexus link wasn't available, though
there are people to be seen as online on the 'Age Chat' web interface, but nobody
is answering me lol ...

So, I couldn't test the new features to link to the City and Kirel, to change my password,
to receive my private 'test note', I'd also like to try to see how the 'public note' will be received ...
I'd also like to see in which way the 'Registry' will be accessed in-game and so much more like
relatively warping, a more extensive vocabulary by Lyrobot etc.etc. .. Awesome job, thanks, Lyros ... :D

Actually, what you're proposing in itself isn't too difficult. It's difficult because I'm planning on allowing people to actually edit their marker games from the website. :wink:

Yes, unfortunately, Lyrobot has problems when other Grey Hats enter The Fun House, because they like to page in objects for entertainment. Judging from the logs, someone paged in Jalak Dador, which made Lyrobot crash. :( I don't really have a way to fix this, unless I rewrite the entire Uru Python scripts. The only thing I can do when that happens is reboot Lyrobot.
