So where is there a War Shroom? I know of a Factory Shroom and a Slave Shroom... (as far as shrooms actually used as buildings). I can't remember if i ever saw "war shroom" in Sharper's Journal.

Thank you for clearing up Tolesa and Tokotah though, I at least figured Tolesa would have some meaning similar to that.

Oh and now it occurs to me the meaning of "nay" (root) for Ahnonay must also be shared with GarterNAY and RoNAY!

Also, after reading all this, I'm starting to suspect that the name "Terahnee" sounds like the word "Tyranny" on purpose!

I always thought it was the shroom with the secret room, near the Bahro cave (although I don't have anything more concrete than my own guess to back this up). I guess that's what you call the "slave shroom" but I don't think there were actually any slaves in there, the prison isn't in a shroom at all, it's in a cave.

I am supposing by the word "Shroom" as used in this context, means "room"
I would suppose the "War Shroom" is the room as seen through the telescope in the Spy Room.
There are flip boards, and various documents there, so something was being planned there.
(incidentally, if you were to go to that room, the floor is not solid)

So, I'm not the only one who remembers Dr. Strangelove!

Anyways: it sounds more like "Warshroom," a mis-pronounciation of "wash room."

@ Ehren:

The "WarShroom" inside the code refers to the 2 storey-high building inside Teledahn between the lagoon and the Bahro Cave entrance.

In the code, the scene objects "WarShroom" lead to the complete structure of this building only. There are 7 scene objects named like that.

The prp file related to that building is named "tldnSlaveShroom". There are few objects that can also be found in the general global prp file "tldnHarvest".

So... it seems that the name of the building is SlaveShroom but it could also be WarShroom as well.

Thanks, RAWA! I always thought Jalak Dador was actually the full name of the age, so I appreciate the correction! And all of this other great information as well...

*hordes more lore*

I don't understand that. Since RAWA is the definitive authority, I was acknowledging that you were right.

As TOOO noted, it's a Dr Strangelove reference. The next line is "This is the war room". I was just making a light-hearted comment.

Saying "warsh" for "wash" is common in the Pacific Northwest I understand. I had a scout leader who referred to her home state as "Warshington". For all I know it could descend from the same sea faring part of England that gives pop culture pirates their "Arr" as in "Ah harr Jim Boy!"

hmm Sharper as Long John Silver

This makes me wonder. The D'ni names must have similar homophones in other languages. Anyone know if any are used/joked about commonly? I'm reminded of the joke translation book which translated "jet'adore" as "you're lettting the flies in"

Am I gonna get in trouble for posting in an old thread?

I would really like to know if the Tokotah name comes from the DRC or if it was named by the D'ni. I'm trying to build a city tour and want to give out accurate info.

All I could find in my explorations as of Tokotah/Dakotah and all its variations you find on the first page on this thread ... On that same page a bit down Mac added further information with Rawa's explanation how all those names mostly came to be ... If you now intend to organize an IC cavern tour, hmmm, you'll have to find your own creative workaround out of that I suppose lol ... :P

I'd say that those Dakotah, Garrison and other labels were used for convenience (in the restoration, means coding or programming period lol) and the more d'ni-ish ones were translated from old maps and books by the DRC, by Nick White, so that maybe one could say those were original D'ni names and as good as possible transliterated into a for most people readable modern English or sth like that ... :D
