I think for me, it was about 10 years ago, when I was 6, that I was first shown Myst Masterpiece Edition, and played it with dad.

The Cavern Today pod cast, TCT X: Myst 20th Anniversary Special includes a lot of reminiscing in it. Worth a listen.

ohmylordie, yes!!! i got riven as soon as it came out...couldn't play it though so i didn't even open the box up...it was more than two years before i could afford another computer and could play it!

With me, it was Until Uru. My PC was powerful enough to play Uru: CC, but my video card wasn't powerful for Until Uru, and I ended up with a black box on the screen. By the time I finally found a video card that worked on my PC, we were in the middle of the GameTap years, and I arrived just in time for "Scars."

I remember when Riven came out and they had a encrypted message about on their website(I think it was in Deni).

That reminds me of a story: I grew up playing Myst games and we did Myst and Riven as a family. When we started the game the first time I though Cyan had given the rights to Cyan Worlds since the company name had changed and the logo was much more dramatic. Also Riven was much "darker" them Myst.
