Oh boy! I sounds like we will be getting a Build Update 916 very soon. They tried today, but failed.

Besides the random stained glass designs in our hoods that Chogon mentions, does anyone know what other improvements or new goodies we might see in this update?

See here: http://wiki.openuru.org/index.php?title ... yan_Worlds

But it probably won't be called build 916 - since that failed, a rebuild will be needed so it'll end up as some number greater than 916 ;).

Wow! Thanks Mac for moving that hot potato reply out from my innocent topic thread and for answering my question.

Cheers,
Buddy

Now, it's 1.918!

We just have to wait until the servers come back up before we can see what goodies Cyan has in store for us! (Although a hint in the meantime would be nice.)

You mean esteemed community members such as Skoader, Lyrostior, Christian Walther, D'Lanor, boq, Deledrius, and myself, right? ;)

EDIT: (and credit goes to Cyan's QA Department as well for making sure there are no regressions)

The second post of this thread should give you a good idea of what's being updated.

Thanks for that!

Second post has a link, I guess that list is probably mostly accurate for what Cyan will use in this update. All we can do is wait and see WHICH things they include and which they don't. Given that they had trouble before, there is especially a good chance the plan changed a little bit.

Thanks so much to Christian Walther, Mac_Fife, rarified, JWPlatt, Tai'lahr, Janaba,Tor'i, Dexter and Mike for the great new updates. I haven't explored absolutely everything that was updated but among them being able to move the cursor outside of the screen without alt-tabbing is a relief. That was often a headache for me. Also, sitting or going afk and still being able to identify who is in the game with the cursor without standing up is very convenient. I'm off to explore other goodies in the game. You guys rock...thanks again!!

I'm updating with the names of those involved in the build I hadn't noticed....sorry bout' that

Lyrositor, Skoader, AdamJohnson, Deledrius, Christian Walther, D'Lanor and boq.....All of you guys ROCK!!

Just to be clear, these were the update testers - which they do truly rock!!
But I had forgot to include the names of the developers when I first posted. I now updated the post at
http://mystonline.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=26572

And those people that rock are:
Lyrositor, Skoader, AdamJohnson, Deledrius, Christian Walther, D'Lanor and boq

Thanks,
Chogon

Hay I've been waiting for these changes to get into the build for a long time way to go, devs! Sad to hear about the disapernce of the Cyan logo.(I guess Cyan did not feel like putting back the Bink code which they have a license for.)

The intro vidioes of the game have been removed from the game, due to licensing issues when open source hit. If you want to see the vidioes they can be found in the 'avi' folder of the game directory. If you want to watch them you will need a special media player Media Player Classic and Bink Vidio tools both work for this. You can find Media Player Classic at http://mpc-hc.org/ and Bink at http://www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm. Bink is also available for the Mac and I think Classic will run under wine.

Also Open Source is a possitve thing which has imporved the game many times over the years.
