Orange pillars

There is a sort of interesting symbol on the orange pillars in Kadish Gallery. I've already tried to explain it in the cavern, but it was quite hard using only text chat, so here is the graphical version:

[Reveal] Spoiler: "One of the pillars in question"
Image

[Reveal] Spoiler: "Cropped to the symbol"
Image

[Reveal] Spoiler: "The symbol drawn over it in gray"
Image

[Reveal] Spoiler: "The symbol without background"
Image

Now you should be able to see a double D'ni number. If you remove one of them...
[Reveal] Spoiler: "Without the second number"
Image

...you get the number 19.
Now I have absolutely no idea if there are any other occurances of the number 19 in any of Kadish's ages, but I thought it interesting enough, considering that everything in Kadish Gallery could be a clue.
The symbol might also represent a 38 (19+19), because it is double.

There is also a square in the middle of the symbol, which has a significance regarding the symmetry. If you take two D'ni 19s and rotate one by 180° along that point, you get the symbol on the pillars.

The symbol shown above can only be seen on the right side of Kadish Gallery (if seen from the entrance). On the other side the symbol is mirrored, which is probably because of how Uru handles the texture.

The symbol also resembles the icon of the Riven.exe, which is not that surprising,
[Reveal] Spoiler: "Riven semi-spoiler"
because Gehn supposedly copied stuff from other Ages.

Kadishian Numbers

This is all quite spoilery, so don't look unless you completely finished Kadish Tolesa.
[Reveal] Spoiler:
Most of the number equivalents used on the vault seem to also represent one of the puzzles.
1: ring viewer puzzle in the forest area
2: the vault
3: light pyramid
4: ???
5: moon room or ring viewer puzzle, both quite vague
6: ???

Starry Sky

There is a blue starry sky painted on part of the Kadish Gallery ceiling.
[Reveal] Spoiler: "Starry sky roof"
Image

And, as usual, I found something somewhat similar, this time in Riven:

It DOES look like a mutated D'ni number!

What you forgot when tracing is that there is a square like shape in the center of the design. A D'ni zero has a little square (or circle) in the center. So it's like a 0, a 19, and an upside down 19 all layered on top of each other.

Okay, I didn't point out the middle square, will add that to the OP. But there is something like "point symmetry" (dunno if that is the correct English term), which means that a shape is not mirrored along a line ("axis symmetry"?), but rotated along a center point, which in that case is the square.
Oh, another thing it reminds me of is the Riven .exe icon - it is basically the same, just with a D'ni 5.

[spoiler=Riven semi-spolier]Wait, wasn't Gehn copying stuff from other Ages?[/spoiler]
And I've also had a few ideas where the 19 might appear, but I haven't checked them yet.

[spoiler=Kadish Tolesa Spoiler]All of the following is in Kadish Tolesa.
  • How often you have to click the buttons on the viewers (puzzle 1)
  • How many tiles you walk over in the Moon Room (puzzle 2)
  • How many tiles you walk over in the pyramid (puzzle 3)
  • How many seconds the elevator ride takes (puzzle 3 -> 4)
  • How many seconds the ladder takes to lower (puzzle 4 -> 5)
[/spoiler]

Rotational symmetry.

With regards to the significance,
[spoiler]I think it is likely that it refers to puzzle 3, as our 'seconds' are not used by the D'ni, [/spoiler]

I don't know how to correctly include pics from Dropbox... if you do know, please tell me

I use Dropbox all the time to post pics, so here is Alien's Quickie Guide To Posting Pics With Dropbox
1) Put your pictures in the public folder (in sub folders if you want, as long as you can find them)
2) Go to your Dropbox online
3) Navigate online to your picture in the public folder
4) right-click on the picture file and select "Copy Public Link" and click on the "Copy to clipboard" button that pops up
5) Go to your post on the forum, paste the link in, wrap it in [img] tags

and that's it (you might want to wrap the link + [img] tags in spolier tags)
.

Then how about prorahntee? ;)
[spoiler]The elevator/the ladder does seem to take a bit longer than 19 seconds.[/spoiler]

19 prorahntee is roughly 26.5 seconds.

After all these years... I've never noticed that symbol on the pillar. Good catch!

What about the symbol on the stained glass located in the middle of the two curved staircases? You see it best from the top floor but there is also a separate one lower down towards the lower floor. It's a rather strange looking shape.

I've always assumed it must be a clue for something we haven't seen. It also looks like it could be different separate shapes that were overlayed on top of each other.

I've also noticed that, and it always totally confused me. It does not remind me of anything I've seen so far. The "overlaid shapes" theory has also come to my mind, I thought that maybe it was made up of Kadishian number symbols, but it doesn't seem to be.
Maybe I'll upload pics of all the clues in the gallery.

PS: I keep adding discoveries and new theories to the first post, so everyone can easily see what's already been discovered. Just added that the number might be 38 (because of 19+19 and the double symbol).

Has someone already looked into the Watcher's Words books? I remember numbers featured repeatedly and Kadish was trying to claim that he fulfilled prophecies.

Excellent idea, ventris! However the computer with my MOUL installation has a technical problem ATM, so I won't be able to continue doing research for a few days.

Use the copies of the notebooks on the Guild of Greeters website. That's what I'm using for my Ae'gura research.

(Unless you just need the excuse to take time off.)

Right, thanks for the tip. And there's All Things Uru. Note to self: think a little more before you post.
