Translation from Legalese: All property submitted at any time shall give Cyan Worlds, Inc, the right to use your material at any time without your consent or compensation, and you may not cancel the deal. However you may use the picture as you wish and grant the same rights to others as you see fit (as stated in "nonexclusive right")

This is so that people who submit ideas for storyline can not claim anything from Cyan Worlds, Inc, if their idea is used.

So it's only an eternal, un cancelable license, not an IP signing over.

So saying "the Information shall be the property of the Licensors" is just licensing it? That's not what it reads as... looks more to me like they're saying "it's ours, but you can use it too."

But it says you can grant rights, therefore it must remain in your possesion for that to be possible. You can't grant rights to something in someone else's possesion unless you're the government, or are a parent company or something.

I know you could do it via proxy; have the person who wants to give the sub license ask the owner to give the person who's going to be the sub liscensee the sub license.

Just take it to say that you can't try to get money off cyan for using your work, nor revoke their right to use it. you can, however, use it yourself, or give the right to use it to others.

Hmm... I like that a lot better. It's got that speckly texture to it without just looking dirty.

The license talk started because Eartwizard wrote personal initials on a Glass mosaic candidate. If somebody from the staff posted a clear statement that we may or may not write our initials or take ownership of our creations once sent to Cyan I think this sub debate could be closed. It is relevant for all who takes part in the mosaic project.

Im not sure if Im going to compete, but I think it would be nice if someone could incorporate more of the colorful foliage. Very pretty, I think thats the best part of that age. Reminds me of home.
