Perhaps you expected it to translate to "The answer to Life, the Universe and Everything is 42"?

:D

You can't expect Cyan to be that creative can you? I mean, it's like Nintendo with Koume and Kotake in OoT. Their hats spelled their names around the edges in Hylian.

I dunno. I was expecting something perhaps, maybe, a bit philosophical. Ya know, like some sorta revelation in regards to his prophesies. But no. Apparently Kadish was so arrogant, he had to be condencending enough to remind his gallery patrons where they were and who's it was... as if they'd forget :P

sorta like the Guild of Maintainers in Gahreesen

or perhaps something having to do with trees... or water... or roots... or people who grow things... the usual suspects

What about the D'ni writing above the red columns at the Ferry?

There's a few words in there that we dont really know yet. The phrase is:

rehbahntahno tehneeehn shehmtee

We know reh is the so we can check that off right away.. ahno is water but bahn(t?) and tehnee are also unknown words as of now. shehmtee is of course the plural of "another person" or more accurately "everyone/ you all"

The best guess I can come up with is "The [lake]water [rejuvenates] you/us all" with the brackets being guesses at the missing words. Im guessing that it says "lake-water" because its presented as one word. While in certain circumstances a D'ni word can contain another D'ni word and have a completely different meaning than if the word is by itself but something about the structure suggests to me that the word before "ahno" is an adjective so I presume it's referring to the type of water, hence "lake-water"

It should be noted that this same phrase appears all over Ae'gura including along the top of Kerath's Arch both front and back, neither of which are visible from any normally accessible area.

Perhaps "gives life to" is a better option than "rejuvenates"? I think it makes a bit more sense in the context of the rest of your guesses.

For all those who enjoy this sort of speculation on D'ni writings, last year I applied my (admittedly amateur) linguistics skills to the Kadish note, and teased out a possible meaning.

I mostly made it up based on context and what was known/implied about Kadish as a character. Obviously it's guesswork, but a year later I still feel like it "fits".

The double-e at the end of the word before "ehn" [to] typically means the word ends with an "s" in English. The ___-water ____s us all. Hence my thought of "rejuvenates" or perhaps "restores".. maybe "cleanses"?. It could even be a word that doesn't completely translate and therefore has no analog. Perhaps the phrase is referring to the water almost as a deity. It would make sense as many "god" figures are based on Sol, the light-bringer. Since D'ni has no sun it's logical to assume this same adoration was payed to the glowing lake-water. Just a thought :)
