Indeed, I’m on satellite and I can never get into the alcove (or land on the pinnacle between the towers): for that part I usually switch to the phone modem or, ehm, become a ghost.

It surprises me though, considering that in 2010 I had a less powerful computer, and a slower internet connection in the same house with the same satellite receiver.

It's basically a non-issue, with my friend's intervention. Thanks everyone for the help.

That's actually characteristic of many of the networking issues I've seen with MOUL - a faster PC seems to put more of an expectation on the internet connection.

Transitioning from subworld to subworld is one of the very few cases where latency is an absolute killer. The server has to acknowledge a resource lock before the transition can occur. If this takes too long, you won't make the transition. In this case, you're being blocked by the old world. In some cases, the game logic turns off the old world's collision before you're in the new world, and you promptly fall through the floor  . There isn't an easy way to fix this and ensure that we don't have race condition hëll inside the client, unfortunately.

Huh, that answer sounds like something to me... :)

GEORDI: Remember folks, this will be a near warp transport. The effects will be a little unusual.
PULASKI: How do you mean?
RIKER (cuts in before Geordi can reply): Understood. Energize.
PULASKI (turns to Riker just as they begin to transport): Wait a minute! I don't under...
(The Away-Team dematerializes before the sentence is complete, then begins to reappear in comfortable if somewhat cluttered living quarters. Behind them we can see the planet through the window, including the multi-colored rings that encircle her. It takes longer than usual for their materialization. We hear the end of Pulaski's sentence as her body becomes solid.)
PULASKI: ...stand!
RIKER: You do now.
(All seem momentarily disoriented. Troi puts her hand to her head.)
TROI: Ohh... I know this is crazy, but for a moment I felt like I was trapped inside that wall.
WORF: For a moment...You were.

This is awesome, Nev'yn, and fits so perfectly here ... I wonder if real Trekkies know all those quotes and speeches by heart lol ... and your answer, Adam, sounds absolutely reasonable ... of course, you are one of the experts here ... :D

IDK what happened but the dreaded 'false extended spinning bridges' BUG,
Garheesen jump over too the 2nd spinning building, No matter what I do I
keep falling through the bridges when ever I try to jump over to one of them
from the center rock pier, (and intermittently I fall through that as well!)

Is there any quick fix for this? This happens on BOTH TPOTS and now on MOULA
as well. It go figure.

@VoiZod Something to test:

In older days with less performing pc we could stand a bit sideway to see the jump coming. Test standing with your avatar looking ahead and very strait/perpendicular to the jump and in first view.

I bought a new computer last month, close to state-of-the-art and allegedly for gamers. When I reinstalled URU and started playing, I also got stuck in the gears in Gahreesen. I tried everything suggested in this thread, but nothing worked. Then I searched through older forum postings and came across the suggestion to make the jump in first person (F1). It worked!

I always play MOULA in 1st person its the only way to play it because
1st person is a lot more accurate in judging distance etc. than
3rd person is.

That spinning wall I have to walk against it on the left side
when the crack comes up I quickly run jump into the engine room
I keep hitting the jump spacebar while moving forward many times
to make sure I get over the spinning collision mesh which does have
a tiny lip or rim to it.

I cheated a little eventually had a friend link me to their Relto
so I could use their Gahreesen linking book
into their Gahreesen's 2nd building where Yeesha's cloth
is. (don't forget to touch the cloth) I then ran to the bahro stone an linked out,
Then I could link back to "MY" Gahreesen again through either
my Gahreesen linking book or my new Gahreesen link
via the big brown book!

Then I just waited outside the 2nd building on the tip of one of the spinning
bridges until the main Bahro door came around then just simply
walked off the bridge down to the 1st stone pier a little to the
right of the main center rock pier w/Yeesha cloth on it.

Jumped down to the door, DONE!

I realise this is a rather old post and it is now 2017 but I just had this problem myself. I was on an ASUS laptop and after trying just about everything I could without success, I simply quit the game on the laptop, logged in on a desktop and played the Gahreesen bit with the spinning room/wall without difficulty. Once I had done that I quit from the desktop, went back to my laptop and the game worked perfectly from there onwards.

This is an old problem that comes up from time to time. It happened to me when playing a new avatar a couple of years ago and I found an older thread in the forums that suggested going to first person once you're in the alcove. I did that and exited the alcove while still in first person with no problem. I have no idea why it worked.

It happens because the success of the transition is dependent on frame rate and client graphics quality (in a completely unintuitive way).

The same is true of the Gahreesen bridge jump.

Don't forget connection quality. As usual, this issue has been fixed in modern versions of the game client. ;)
