:D  Will there be a need for greeters in Uru Live?
It was really helpful to have them before, and still even now in UU.

Wherever people need help there will be the greeters in one form or another, so I am sure the greeters guild will come into play once again, and if it does I shall re-apply as an active greeter.

I can not speak officially for the Greeters, but knowing the GoG was invited to the D'mala shard and are directly answerable to Cyan now, as opposed to through Ubisoft ... I would say there is a very likely possibility that the GoG will also be present in UrU Live ... as was originally intended.

And if not...although they probably will...the wonderful community members of UL and UU are always helpful. :)

I'm not in a position to answer for the guildmaster, but I have posted a note in our main duty greeters forums, so hopefully someone with more knowledge than I should be able to provide more information when it becomes available.

If I hear anything myself I shall try and post.

The T-Shirt does not make the Greeter
It's the Greeter that makes the T;
Where there beats the heart of a greeter,
There greeting a greeter will be --
If, whatever you're wearing,
You just can't stop caring,
You don't need the capital G!

First unofficial offical Greeter song of the new era!

I do hope we will officially continue to be a part of it all, but whereever explorers are to be found needing help and advice, those who greet will, one way or another, be there to offer assistance.

Well, as I said up there, anyone who greets is a greeter, but to become an official Greeter (or what has until this point been an official Greeter) you need to join the Guild of Greeters forums at www.guildofgreeters.com and also fill out an application. The application area of the site gives a lot of information about requirements that interested persons should read, but, essentiallly, the application goes through an approval process and, once approved, the new Greeter is required to agree to a specific code of conduct and make a time commitment. As well, in the past there have been excellent training sessions for new and returning Greeters and I would imagine that, if the Greeters do continue in an official capacity, these would become more frequent.

Thanks. I think I'll apply and put all that time I spend in the cavern to good use. :)

Nurph, you beat me to it!

The other thing that you should do is hang around the GoG forum long enough to get to know us, and post enough to let us get to know you. Join us in the cavern on D'mala as well!

I also thought about being a Greeter, but then again, you wont be 100% independant since you have to be there when new explorers arrive..

Uru would not be Uru without the Greeters. It would be like the Cavern without, er... orange light.

And with all the many new explorers we're undoubtedly going to have, we will need them more than ever.

I suspect it all depends on what Cyan wants and Turner approves. But you know most of us would be happy to do so.

Hey NERF!! (Love ya babe!!)

Nerf is absolutely right...a little greeter lives in all of us.

If you see someone that you've never met before, just that little bit of "Hi, How are you?" is enough to make them feel welcome...

It doesn't take a whole lot to be friendly to people that you haven't met before...

Go out, be sweet, that way everyone, no matter who they are, where they come from or what their background is, feels welcome to join in on the fun that we are all having.

You don't need to have a T-Shirt or a title to be nice to your fellow explorers. You never know, you just might make a new friend.
