They modified Gira to have exactly this type of singular gameplay solution.

That would have been Cyan's preference, yes. Look at GreyDragon's responses when Negilahn first came out, for example.

I think every one has got it wrong the POD ages have not been solved yet.

i think there is way more to the pods other then the gateway the gets you something for your relto.

it was way to easy to get the times with out the map or payiferen.

te me if the map and the clock was they way then i think that should have gave out the clock and the map first.

Ah well, probably this is one way we're affecting the storyline :D

Where? First I've heard of them.

Obviously, Cyan doesn't really get much of a vote about how people play their game. I assume they're aware of this.

Note the quote from early March. We didn't until the map in April. This is why Cyan is refusing permission to release portal calculators.

Without Payiferen and the map there is nothing to solve.

So what were those portals and donut wedgies some of us had before Payiferen?

Half a puzzle, the equivalent of a crossword grid without any clues.

"Note the quote from early March."

You are referring to this? "Pods - depends if you know what you need to know." (in answer to "is this age buggy or just difficult?")

Ok, I've read it. How the heck does that imply that Cyan would have preferred us to not find the portals before April?

That quote says that the pods are easy if you don't know how they work, and hard if you don't. Which is true. It says nothing about how we were supposed to learn "what we need to know".

There's more. I'm not going to search for everything for you.

The available predictors are either web based (java script or php) or Windows only programs. My tool is OS independent and will come with a Windows installer, Mac DMG App package and a Linux source bundle. (shameless spam)

I won't demand that you play web historian. But I follow these forums fairly carefully. (I did, for example, read that post you cited. I didn't remember it in this thread because it didn't seem relevant.) I try to keep track of this stuff. (It's not like GD posts a *lot*.)

I think you're making a strong claim about what Cyan wanted (or wants), and I don't see either evidence to support it or much sense that the community agrees with you. That bothers me, because in the past "Cyan doesn't want you to do that" has been one of the nastier sticks that players use to beat each other.

More like a block of ciphertext with no key. Decrypting it by employing frequency analysis instead of waiting for the key to show up doesn't make the answer any less correct.
