Here's something that worked for me - i don't know just how reliable it is, but at least it's an idea:

If you make the hood private, then public right after, it should appear in the list again. Then, just be sure you have one person, at least, in the hood, for the duration, so that it stays in the list. Seems hoods with 0 population are the ones that get dropped from the Nexus list... from what i can tell.

Thing is: you'd have to do this - be in your hood - well in advance. Maybe post the time the hood will open, and be there 15 mins ahead, to be sure.

Those hoods get permanently deleted. Never abandon your hood.

There always has to be one member in a explorer-made hood, yes? I made one. Somehow, two new explorers were assigned to it, now it never shows up in the list. And yes it is public, with a nice clock and full lantern display. The Island page is there, too, but I guess that is everywhere now, eh?

Your hood will drop down the list if it is inactive (ie, no one visits for a spell). Once it falls from the list, you or another member will have to go to the nexus to make it active again. (hit the top bar with your hood's name, switch it to private and then back to public.) I haven't had any trouble making my hood public, after it has fallen from the list, and it stays that way until I get there. It might have been coincidence, but it seemed to move up the list after 3 or 4 of us stood around chatting there one night. I don't make my hood active unless I have a compelling reason, just so other hoods will be seen from time to time.

I could be wrong about some of the details; this is just what I've concluded from my own experience with it.

New explorers are supposedly assigned to random public hoods.
I'd prefer we were assigned to random "DRC" hoods, and that the DRC hoods were not shown on the public list.
I'd also prefer that public hoods with members online where given higher priority of appearing in the list.

And supposedly that was fixed. How long ago did this happen?

I think that changed at Release 2, Tim. There weren't all of the DRC (nnnn) 'hoods before.

The "Up On the Roof!" Bevin now stays public after the procedure Dotty describes. I've been testing this and it works. So, those of you who want to dance, come to the "Up On the Roof!" Bevin this Friday and we'll accommodate you. :) Starting at 8PM Eastern, 5PM Pacific.

And I'm also planning a "Return to Tokotah Alley" Party for Feburary 9. This one celebrates the fact that we're on the verge of launching New Live three years after the plug was pulled, and a year after many of us were holding onto hope by our fingernails... and slipping.

LC, have you submitted either of those to the "In Game Events" section yet? I couldn't find them.

Or, we could use the A Begginner's Bevin (which is always public) as a point to reach the Delin inside. It would also be reachable at any time, yet would not disrupt or be disrupted by the tours...
