If you first raise pillar 2, 3 times and pillar 3, 4 times you can easily get the sparkly HOWEVER, you can then easily jump across to the stairs leading to the journey cloth and eliminate that step.
Alternatively,
If you already hove your pillars in the final configuration (with the dropped ceiling ladder), you can run through the back corridor up to the Journey Cloth and leap for the Sparklie from the steps. You can easily reach it with the jump, then just Relto off the pillar top.
Rils, I tried your alternative several times but couldn't do it. Don't know how. The one that works for me is Delano's suggestion.

Hmm, peculiar... worked for me first try...
Just point yourself at the Sparkly, run down the stairs and jump off the last one. You just have to pass through the Sparkly, you don't have to stand in it. And if you can jump from the pillar to the stairs, you can go from the stairs to where the pillar should be... You know you got it if you see your relto book flash.
The trick is to wait until the very last possible second. You're "jumping the gun". :P

You did not write an important thing: is it a run-jump or walk-jump?

Run-jump worked for me. I didn't wait until the last possible moment, though. Got it on my first try too, so it can't be that hard :)

Well, I could try again Rils' suggestion but... since I already have it I'll never know if it'd work for me again  .

Hmmmm...I wonder why no one's tried my solution.
I linked back in to the last journey cloth, which is in the vault. went back the pillars and climbed down. Reset the pillars and put #4 up four times and #3 up 4 times, and walked up the stairs and out to the sparkly.
I did that with a different avvie, and I suspect that's how you're actually supposed to do it. (Or possibly from the other side.) But the run-jump was fun so I had to try that too :)
Pillar #2 only needs to be raised twice. I also linked straight into the Vault when I did it.

You can get this from any Kadish, not just your own. In fact, this seems to be true of all the pick-up items.
Some of you may be saying, "So friggin what, I knew that!" but it was news to me and a few others, so I figured I'd post it just in case.
I just reset the pillars and raised them until they formed the proper ladders to climb up and take it. No tricky jumping or anything.
