Is it just me, or do I hear every now and again the familiar chirp chirp of Rivenese frogs uppermost part of Kadish Tolesa? Oddly enough, if I remember my Riven well, the frog was associated with the number 3. There are three scopes in that area. Coincidence?

There was a topic about this a looong time ago.

I can't find it any more though.... But yes, it does sound like that frog from Riven.

The frog was called an Ytram, and yeah, there's been lots of speculation about why it's heard in both Riven and Kadish...

OOC, they probly just needed another sound effect and thought it'd be a nice homage.

IC, we get to debate all sorts of theories from concordant evolution among the Ages to "did Gehn just co-opt the frog out of the Kadish book (like he did with so many other things) when he built Riven?" ;)

Good catch! Most people don't notice it until someone else mentions it!

Perhaps Gehn took the "path of the hand" on his way through D'ni, found the Ytrams and (though he prolly couldn't find the Kadish Descriptive book) probably copied them into his Age. It IS possible, you know.

Maybe there are Sunners in Gira and Wharks around Tetsonot...

Some bird song would be real cool to hear on Relto! There's been a lot of times when I'll sit around and journal, and though the waterfall is really relaxing to hear, some birds would be nice also.

Uuhh... If you're referring to the original hand journey, then Gehn could not have possibly taken it because that was organized by Yeesha...who is Atrus' daughter...who was a young man when his father was trapped in Riven...
