I do know D'ni though, and the writing on the door is not D'ni. Here is what I got when I tried to trace the letters:

The right one is blurry so it was harder to trace that one.

If that actually is writing on those doors, it's not Arabic. By Gorobay's tracing, it looks Oriental.

OOOO, if it is oriental this hints at D'ni involvement with surface people in more locations! This would be cool to confirm.

In The Book of Atrus, a symbol for "Enter" is mentioned. It could be that they aren't D'ni characters, but still D'ni symbols. Though why they would make the symbol so complicated, I have no idea. Perhaps they are some kind of family crest or business logo?

That's a good job of tracing it... hmmm...

By the looks of it it might just be artistic engraving... it could simply be random lines drawn into the door. I may not know how to read or write in any asian languages, but I have studied the basic structure of the symbols of some of the languages. It doesn't look like any language I've ever seen...

A number of languages have both a cursive (as in Japanese Kanji) form and a literal, i.e. more formal or icongraphic form, and it is possible, thought my own studies of D'ni Language are just beginnig due to the demands of other duties up until now, it is possible that there is a cursive form of D'ni or that a decorative version or variant developed and then died out. That too is a posiblity. Hopefully additional sources and examples may be found. A close inspection of all Ages and all buildlings might be in order in the time remaining to us in the Cavern before the Intermission.

Now that we finally see everything pretty much brighter and better than before, we should take pics of all the places where these writings appear. Sometimes it helps to have a buddy who has the glow stand near and illuminate... if not you, then the subject... *me grabs his KI and Silver and goes hunting for writings*

Looks a little bit Chinese/Japanese. But I couldn't tell you what they said now, once I have my kanji dictionary I may take a stab at it though ;)

Also, massive bump. Thanks for making the characters clearer, makes looking up radicals and stuff a LOT easier, trust me.

This door was discussed a while back on Uru Obsession here. It does resemble a formal style of Arabic.
