I still think that it's ironic that D'ni doesn't have bathrooms of any kind (well, in-game, anyway).

While I say "dihnee", I like the fact that the pronunciation "dunny" exists. It adds more realism. even though it sounds stupid to us, it would sound fine to any civilization that lives underground and speaks a totally different language.

For some reason I like that.

Actually, a real D'ni person would look at you funny if you said "Dunny", or get offended at the mispronunciation. But I see your point.

A real D'ni person eh! Now this is getting good. Not only would RAWA smile in contempt but also being scoffed at by a real makebelieve person.
:P

PS! I see your point. Just could not help myself. Swear to never do it again cross my heart and all that.

I don't really get what the big deal is. I'm sure it's not the only word that means something else in another language. Personally, I don't really care how it's transliterated into English, or how the transliteration is pronounced.

Its not so much that it translates into toilet, it's more the sort of people who use it.
It's like if they called our reltos "cribs" or the neighborhood "da hood"

Yay, the chavs are coming to D'ni! :P

Pronounciation of D'ni is obviously regional so sounds f'ni in different countries. Maybe we should have something like this on Spoken Word night when we're all back in the cavern - a " D'ni pronounciation night "?

 How did Blondie find out about D'ni?

They must have found it BEFORE John Loftin!

Do you think that Deborah Harry might actually be the stranger?

As a non-Aussie I have no obligation to respect your language.

Dunny is my favorite pronunciation. It was the original, plus Atrus is too awesome to go against his ways. I never liked Yeesha's "Din-ee", it sounded too eccentric.
